Who cares why? It's a 2dr Charger, which according to this board, makes it the real deal.

The price keeps coming down on that car. Next week he will have a 3K buy it now option.

The question should be: What does it do in the 1320? Looks kinda fun.  - dave

What a deal....   Three gallons to the mile.   No leg room.   Stiff suspension.

I know why a guy does that to a car.....................................    because he can... ;D ;D

Why what?

It's a racecar....    and going pretty cheap considering what the guy's probably got into it.

No.  What you have pictured is just a plain whatever.

My friend has a collection of 4 Shelby Chargers for parts... 2 black, 2 blue, 2 turbos, 2 non turbos - he's only asking $1K for the package.  And they're stil sitting.   There's a few turbo dodges that are worth a few bucks to the enthrusiast/collectors but generally they're not worth much at all anymore.

If there was a guarantee that  the car ran, it would definately be a fun driving car.

About the comment about some of those 80's chargers being worth something. I would say that the 87 GLHS Charger's are definately going to be worth something. I would also say that the 92-93 IROC R/T Daytona's are going to be very collectible one day. I know there are already some people out there that are begining to hoard up some of these cars.

That crackerbox on wheels is designed for one thing and one thing only.  To get from a dead stop to the highest speed possible as fast as possible in a distance of 1,320 feet.  It is a purpose-built race car and he couldn't have picked a better chassis to do it.  The024/Turismo/Charger2.2 chassis is an awesome starting point for a 1/4 mile car.

Some people might question why we would take a perfectly good big block engine and saddle it with a big, long, heavy body.

There's show and there's go.

As far as the white Charger 2.2 in the pics, its not worth much, but would make a good parts runner/fishing car if you can find a cheap windshield and can get it running easily..

I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

i would own it.  asking why this guy did this to this car would be like asking the guy why he took an avenger stock body and started kickin a$$ with it in KOS series.  Why, because their light and you can make them go real quick.  At least its a mopar.

These guys start out with the idea of the ultimate power to weight ratio killer machine. The bodies are cheap and plentiful and the thought of the local Gag and McPuke jaw dropper is too compelling. But when they finish it and it handles like abison on skates and scares the living bejeesus out of them straight line, the novelity wears off. And given the market for a high powered roller skate is small, hence the low and ever dropping asking prices.
Friend of mine used to make 427 and 454 Vegas. They were fun...for about 10 minutes.

Except for the rough shape, this looks like my "old man blue" Turismo I had in college after the charger was put away for the winter in 88.  It was woth 3k back then, think it went up in value?!?!?! :errr: :leaving:
Over?! its not over until we say it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!...Hell no! and its not over now!..(Germans? Pearl Harbor?...shut up, he's on a roll)

I have thrown around the idea of dropping a 383 into the Avenger we have sitting here in the garage. I have always thought that if you get a V8 into that body, and convert it to RWD you could make a pretty mean street machine. You don't  have to make it into an all out drag car, but I think you could make a decent handling road machine.

cudaken

I would not mind having it either. Sell the 440 set up and drop a 340/360 in it. Make a fun toy on the street. Heck, 360 out of a 2000 P/U would be a blast as well.

If it did not have the Tunnel Ram on it, it would not look so goofie.
