I'm thinking of mini tubbing the 68 charger any pics would be nice :)
Do I have to relocate the rear leafs???

Cooter

No need, ain't like these cars are an A-body or something...Plenty of room for 275/50/15 tires. At least 11" rubber.

Do you HAVE to relocate them?  no...      but if you do you can take full advantage of about 3-4" of additional tire clearance.

The factory wheel wells support a large tire so unless you want something really big there's no real reason to mintub. Of course to maximize rubber inside the wheel well you really need to re-locate the springs....otherwise it's a waste of time an money.  :Twocents:

A 295/65/15 will fit in the factory wheel well/stock spring location with the proper backspace.  :yesnod:

With a GOOD, STICKY, Street tire (DOT), I'd be more concerned with the "Breaking" of the rearend. Lemme guess, you are still running the 8 3/4 with all that power?

SWEET! At leats you got the rear axle figured. Now, contrary to popular belief, You do NOT need 15" wide tires under the back to "Hook".

You DO need however, a VERY GOOD suspension. That Charger has enough wheelwell to support at least 11" rubber. MORE than enough if you have the suspension.
If not, then you'll have to do it the old fashioned way and put HUGE rear tires under it to compensate.

What do you think of hotchkis suspension
Any good? Well iv bought it hope it gos well with the combo ;)

Your asking an old skooler about suspension components Who cannot afford those. I like the looks of it and in theory, it should work.

I've also heard the same about Cal-Trac bars and leaf springs.

Me? Old skool SS springs, a pinion snubber, sticky DOT tires (11" wide) and a load of N20.

Look at it this way  - - there are guys running 6 second 1/4s on a 10.5" wide tire...       why do you need more on a street car?   :shruggy:

The guys running 6 second 1/4s are using tires that are well over 30" tall with 10.5. But anywho, I like the looks of a big tire, and a slightly modified wheel well.
What was I thinking?

:yesnod: I had my rear axle shortened by almost 3", but now the 295 drag radials I'm running on 10" rims tuck PERFECTLY into the OEM wheel wells.

The "Pro Street" thing is making a come back. HUGE rear tores to fake out your opposition! Awesome. I still have my old M/T, 29X18.5X15" in the basement.
