Cheaper way to get the key and fob replace on a 2005 Honda?

My wife lost the second set of keys to her van. They have not shown up after 3 weeks.

Is there a cheaper way to get the key and fob replace on a 2005 Honda Odyssey, than the dealer?

Maybe we just get the key only reproduced?

Thanks!

I'd call a real locksmith and see what they say.  I know with some keys you can cut a flat "valet" key but if it doesn't have the magical code or chip or whatever the car will start and run for a few minutes then shut off as a security feature.  The dealer will tell you you need their key, the lock guy will know if it's true or not.

If it has a security system, then yes, you need the facotry key and have it programmed. Ain't these new cars wonderful?

You lost the keys and haven't changed the locks yet?  Brave man.  It has to be done by the dealership, no way out.
