Hey guys -

Thought I would post a pic of the car I just purchased - I was going to post it in my transport post but just figured I would throw out a new one. I wanted a new daily driver that was comfortable with some ooomph there was really nothing out there that tickled the pickle. So, I went with kind of an odd ball - a 1969 Ponitac Grand Prix SJ with the 428 HO engine - should boogie down the road and everything works, AC, power windows, cruise, power seats, everything..

Here is a quick pic.

Nice ride Mike! I like the front profile on the 69 Grand Prix. It's in pretty good condition and nice power. What happen to the Cheby Camaro?

Throw some Cragar SS wheels on it, and it should look pretty good that way :yesnod:

Cool deal! My cousin has a '72 Gran Prix, black on black w/ some American Racing torq thrust II's. It looks good!

Cool, i have a 69 cougar with the 428CJ engine in. Took me 3 years to rebuilt it to original standards. Please don't be mad at me for having a Ford product. It's kinda strange to have an American made car over here. (Belgium)

Thanks for the compliments on the GP - it should be a fun ride. The 70' Camaro I bought back in November has been sold - I needed something with 4 seats that I could cruise in with some people in it. At 33 years old I am way off the demographic for this car, but I think it's pretty cool nontheless - kind of a kissing cousin to the 70-72 Monte's. First thing is to put a set of 15x7 Rally II's with some BFGs on it and go over it soup to nuts to see what it really needs, if anything. I think it will be fun to take my 1969 GP car to go and visit my 1968 Charger...

My wife thinks I'm crazy BTW...

If I wasn't brand loyal , I would own a Cougar.

Nice ride there.
I'm kind of partial to the Pontiacs myself, but I still own more mopars than Pontiacs.
My ratio of Pontiac F-bodies to mopars is about 4 to 12.

That should be a fun driver.  Local gas station will love you.    :yesnod:

I am a Pontiac fan from way back.  Grew up with dad selling Pontiacs and Buicks.  We had new demonstrators yearly for several years in the 50's and early 60's.

I drive a Pontiac Fiero GT daily in the winter and my MGB in the summer.

There is a convertible one of those 4 blocks from my house, been under a tarp for 5 years.  Should i go pursue it?

If you mean a Cougar? 69 or 70 convertible with the 428? There are two of them sold lately for plus minus 90.000$ (perfect restorations) So you'd better start running 4 blocks (if it is)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Do all mopar guys have a soft spot for ponchos? I know I do ( 65-66 grand prix - 2+2 - 66 Triple black ( post) goat - 69 Judge - 67-68 beaumont SD ) and alot of the mopar guys I know are the same. Even the hard core pontiac boys don`t mind a nice mopar.

Quite a few of us do, apparently.  After Mopar, my love goes to Pontiac.  66-67 Tempest/LeMans/GTO is a damn beautiful car.
