I traded1  and a half acres of land that I purchased 15 years earlier for 8 grande. The land was in another province  Quebec  and I live in Ontario, I was going to build a house on it but divorce and work made the land just someting that I paid taxes on..So i got  the 74 charger ,rotisserie resto, 440, not # matching ,1st place car show winner B5 blue for a straight trade with me paying 300 bucks for the lawyer to do the searching...Worst thing was after we shook hands I had to wait for slow ass lawyer to do all the paperwork and missed the first Moparfest...Always a grin when I drive it

I paid $1100 for my '71 SE 383-2V in '86. It was in very good condition but needed brakes and exhaust.

71 SE3834V

Paid $3250 in June 2011.
71 Charger SE w/about 18 options including A/C, 3 spoke woodgrain/rimblow whl & console/leather seats. 72,000+ mi.
383 4v
Matching #'s, build sheet included.
Pretty much a survivor car. Was stored inside for 15-20 yrs. Car is about as complete as you can get w/only the decklid trim & badge missing on the outside along w/the center of steering whl & cassette deck on the inside. Saw a cass deck for sale at a swap meet for $350 but no funds for something like that.
Condition is good. Solid, only hole is the inner drivers fender (below the battery of course), soft spot in fender & roof, only small amount of surface rust in the trunk, rear window. Some body filler in the quarter from being "tapped". Paint & chrome rough. Nice driver.
Have invested about $1700 into it so far to make it roadworthy.

A couple of years ago i bought a 74 Charger Rallye, 400HP auto #s matching, buckets/console, with 9 1/4 rear.  Complete car in original paint with 66k miles.  Only problem it sat outside for 20 years so there is rust in the lower quarters, bottom of doors, and drivers floor pan.  I paid $4,000 and that was too much for a project but it was exactly what I was looking for even with the rust.

I better not say how much I got it for.  Somebody would  :faint:

I still own my 4th and 6th 3rd gen cars. The others have gone down the road. All were purchased as drivers but one. The Most ever paid was $600. The lowest category you have $2000+, so you don't want to hear from the cheap-asses I guess

Bought it September 2012. 1973 Charger SE, 400 4bbl, not sure if it is numbers matching, but all stock accesories including stock air cleaner, good condition, just two rust spots, a lot of door dings, interior in good shape except drivers seat and carpet. Power windows kinda work....The car runs and drives. I paid $3,000. A pic of this car is my avatar.

Purchased my 73 SE in 2003 for $17000. It has 400 magnum with 727 auto. My car had 2765 miles on it when I found it. Fully documented, with all factory stickers, inspection markings, etc.
A survivor purchased from a private collection. It was appraised as being museum quality. It is classified as a reference model. Highly optioned. everything works. Original to the point of all factory installed belts, hoses, tires, A/C, still with the car. Original factory paint, interior looks factory fresh. I know it was more costly than most but it has provided me with 10 years of basically trouble free driving (near 22 K now) and pleasure. worth every penny in my book.

My '74 Rallye - Bought in 1992, 360 4spd, bucket seat and console car non matching engine or drive train, but had a dealer installed hood tach too, paid $700. with rust in the rear quarters, and minor rust in the front fenders. Very fixable car as the rest was very solid.

My '72 S.E. - Bought in 2004 and paid $1,500. for it, was a life time Arizona car, only needed a trunk floor. Was a 400 automatic, bucket and console car. ALL numbers matching. Just needed carb work to get running.

I didn't go under the  $ 2000 mark cause I figured ithe story would told in the description . Most important, is that it makes for some great charger conversation.

It's great reading all the stories in your descriptions..  Someone should start a poll for each generation.
