What primer should I use after media blasting?

I hope to have my car back in a week or so from my blasting guy and hopefully it won't be nasty weather then. It has been a wet winter for us. I have bought a gallon of Eastwood's Afterblast to use when I get it back first. This stuff from what I have heard should hold the metal til I can get primed. Has anyone used this stuff before and if so what would be a good primer for a base?
Thanks,

Sand your car with 180, clean it with metal cleaner and wax and grease remover and spray some epoxy primer on it.

Epoxy will protect primer from rust and will hold out the best

I had thought about the expoxy primer already and think it wuld work good.  It it pretty easy to work with and clean up?

Just had my 68 Charger painted. The resto shop used epoxy primer everywhere before any paint was applied. We even took off all the E-coating and went over that with epoxy primer!  Then before actual paint we used a good high build primer under the base (we used the top PPG products but you have many choices of brand). Just don't skimp! A good high build primer costs more but there is less sanding in the long run and it comes out smoooooth! The epoxy is tough and easy to use but you must follow the directions especially having to let it sit for at least 30 minutes after mixing and two coats is enough to seal the metal. Make sure you use a respirator. Epoxy primer is NOT GOOD for the lungs!
I attached four pics of my car. You can see it primed with epoxy (Black) then the high build primer (Gray) and the base before clear and then after clear! Good luck on your project!

I am using Eastwood's Epoxy Primer (It's 1 to 1 mix) and it's working well. It sands nice after a few days and you can shoot it with a cheap Harbor Freight gravity feed gun. I mix about 8% reducer (Kirker.) to avoid orange peel and clean up the gun with Lacquer Thinner. Just be sure to have dry air in your lines!  :2thumbs:

What grit sandpaper did you use on the bare meal after sand blast? What would be a good tool to get in all nooks and crannies to sand? Foam sanding blocks??

"Soft Sanders" brand are good and a roll of 150 grit sticky back paper. :2thumbs:
