I have just pulled the vinyl top off my 73 SE, and while preparing for some paintwork I got the idea to see how the car would look with bigger quarter windows. I will sand off the factory body filler anyway, so I wondered if there is an easy way to pull out the whole "special edition window package".
You can see the outlines of the plug they have used, and I removed all the bolts I could find (two bottom + top, and 3 in the front). It still sits on like it is welded... anything I'm missing?

How did you get the SE emblems off of the pillars? My vinyl top was tattered like it went through an atomic bomb test.

Remove the inner sail panels. They are the only emblems on the car that have screws.

Is the piece over the side of the quarter window fiberglass? I don't want to ruin it with a DA with a honking sheet of 80 grit.

I sanded mine with 80 yesterday and it held up just fine. Just dont gouge it and lightly work it over  :-\
