what about getting it on the states historical registry? That way it has to go political for the voters to decide what should be done. but with it being a part of the school it is already part of the political side of things, look into the your town's historical group, with it being "government" property there has to be public input on what can and will be done for the common good. If was city property, you get enough of the towns folk to go your way, the mayor and city council will think twice if elections are close, I would pick the first fight with the school board electives, in conjunction with that, with it also being county property, you may need to hit the county commissioners where it hurts. views from the public are a powerful thing to the officials that want to keep their name. My  :Twocents: but remember what is for the common good and growth "tax revenue" will most likely out weigh any old aged keepsake kind of thing. especially if it costs more in maintenance then what an up graded building would be. Taxes pay for it so if it costs more to run or keep habitual then an upgrade would be then it should go. Only way around that would be for it to be privately owned and funded.
Restoring a charger is like a saying I heard along time ago "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it".... Jesus I wish I could remember who said that...
