Lol there's a thing called 'projectile physics' that might have come in handy.   You can mathematically figure out exactly where your landing spot will be based on the angle of the ramp and the speed, and it takes all of 3 minutes to do the calculations.   I think it would have been worth a quick google search before borking up a $50K truck.

Dude: "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there!!!"
Agent who pops up: "Uhh, sorry buddy, you're hosed"

Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

Yeah that was stupid.  And now the truck is pretty fucked up.  He can't even drive it somewhere else and make up a better story about what happened for his insurance claim.

But I can understand how this happens.  If you don't have experience with this sort of thing, it's easy to underestimate how big the jump is gonna be.

Try watching that video again.  Put it on full screen size, and focus on the run-up to the jump this time - if you were driving, would you really have expected the truck to jump that big, based on that speed?  Probably not.

F8-4life

They were most likely enjoying the buzzz and figured on the good effects of the jump, but disregarded the bad effects of the jump. (which of course outnumbered the good efects)

JB400

Better a Ford instead of a Charger :yesnod:

ACUDANUT

Those Ford Raptors are 55-60K trucks.  I can't believe he would throw that kind of money away.  It doesn't matter what Brand it is.  55K is a shit load of money.

I'm surprised how flat it jumped and didnt nose dive, that was a bigger jump then I thought. Pretty stupid although it was cool for everyone except that guy.

well he who has 'money' can play right......reading some of the comments I guess this guy has two of these vehicles.

So I guess he can do that....

The truck had a pretty smooth gradual run up the ramp.  Not like Hollywood jump ramps where the car gets violently kicked up into the air.
