C_stripes

I like the larger rear wheel openings. I think there is something going on with the car. Vin says its a 440 model, but that has a ton of very hard to find R/T only parts.

TUFCAT

The vin designation "WH23" is a Coronet 440 Model - but this car appears to have everything a real "WS23" Coronet R/T Model would be built with including bucket seats and console (never available on a WH23 model).

It also has the R/T specific hood, and (appears to have) the R/T only 150 mph speedometer based on what I can see of it....most people never go this far when converting a clone.  Speaking of clones, its easier to clone a R/T from a Coronet 500 model since bucket seat/console was typical, and the tail panel is the same as R/T with a "500" badge. Starting with a Coronet 440 model is much harder task.

The WH23 VIN designates the car to be born a 318.  No surprise there. I'm pointing this out because WH23 was never available with a "L code" 440 4bbl engine.  This eliminates Vin "typo theories" regarding WS mistyped as WH nonsense...  So one can only wonder what happened to the WS23 Vin identity if this truly is a real R/T and certainly appears to have been.  I'm guessing a long time ago a certain WS23 Coronet R/T was stolen, and the theives reincarnated it as a different vehicle... :scratchchin:

The WH23 VIN designates this car as a 318 which doesn't jive with the cars presentation.  One can only wonder why the original WS23 Vin is bye-bye...it certainly appears to have been built this way.  :scratchchin:   I'm guessing the car was stolen long ago, and the theives reincarnated it as a different vehicle.

Yep!!! Thats what I am thinking. To many real R/T parts on it.

Speaking of 67 Coronet R/T, I just bought one... Not sure why, but I did. 440 with 18 spline and Dana (orig. auto) and all the R/T parts including NOS grille surrounds. Its a project, but for $4500 I feel I did okay.

Orig. burgundy with white top, white and black interior, and white stripe. Someone hacked the rear wheel wells out and did some damage and the car will need a rear driver frame rail and what not, so I think I will mini tub it and build the car how I want. But it is a real R/T with WS vin.

One of my top ten cars for sure C stripe. :2thumbs:
