Which generation charger is the least seen at car shows/swap meets and cruise nights according to your experiences ?

First - generation charger
Second - generation charger
Third- generation charger

brigond

Thought this might be fun, informative, and interesting. Feel free to give a reason why you have seen more or less of any generation charger.
Mopars are like the Hot Wheel/Matchbox cars from when I was a kid ...  Bad A@@ and Cool!!!

My other hobby is practicing the ancient art of CLICK! POW!

Definitely the first generation, which is sad.  Maybe only because it was 2 years in production, maybe for some reason it never caught on.  I like it, especially the rear buckets, very unique, liked the fast back styling too.  But it is, what it is, takes a back seat to both other generations.
too many to list!

JB400

For me, all 3.  I don't see Chargers around here period.  Just mine.  :'(  Other mopars, yes.  The newer bodystyles are a completely different story :drool5:

TruckDriver

It's been about 3 years since I seen a first gen Charger. But there are two 2nd gen Charger's here in town near me, and there is a few 3rd gen's near me as well, including a '71 Super Bee the guy drives all the time.

First gen factually. I also think they are nice/interesting.

Mopar Nut

I don't see that many of the three here either.

The later ones from mid-late 70s... They are not really "collectible" enough to fix up and be seen (yet)  :Twocents:

Ghoste

Not counting the one in my garage it would be the 1st gens that I never see.  With the lowest production (half year production on the 66 and too little too late by 67) its no wonder though.

Mytur Binsdirti

You forgot to add the Omni based Chargers.

Apart from my own I never see Chargers.  Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a 1st or 3rd gen in person!
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

There is one 67 driving around here....never see any others!

Cooter

There's about three-four months that nobody drives 'em period. (Winter.salt)...

However, the ones that do have 'em don't drive 'em From what I've heard, due to too many idiots on the road. Other than mine, I don't see 2nd Gens, and first gens almost never. Some 3rd gens around, but not driven regularly.

Now after writing this morning I never see any first gens besides mine, a buddy called and he and another friend each bought first gens!  1 is a copper type 66 318 poly, very clean and nice driver but is putting in a built 383 and the other is a triple black 67 440 4 speed, also very clean and needs very little to be back on the road!  I guess the guy also has a 59 fury cop car with 29k orig miles on it for sale. :2thumbs:

A 1st Gen is the only kind of Charger I've ever actually seen randomly going down the road.   I used to live near a guy with a '68 but it never moved from the driveway, and I've seen various other styles for sale somewhere or at Mopar shows, but only ever passed that lone first gen in traffic, and that was 20 years ago in Clarksville TN.   It was dark blue... anyone here know the car?

I can't take out my garbage without tripping over a three Mustangs and Camaro.

Hey Flatback, I will be up there as will my 2 buddys that bought the others as they both live very close in Champlin and I am down in Burnsville. Each of them have other cars they have brought, one is a copper 64 polara and the other is a orange 66 coronet.  So you will have to be on the lookout for the 3 of us next june when it starts up again!
How do you like the weather we are having now! :eek2:

I had the only "67" in the state for a while there... There's a few of them out there now however. I've seen a few 66's at the shows in the last few years, but I still haven't come across any 67's, let alone a vinyl topped 67 like mine.

UH60L

In all the time I have owned mine (since June 2004), I think I have only ever seen one or two other '69s.  There are a few '68s around, and several third gens, even a few first gens.  I know of a couple '70s that are around at shows pretty regular and usually have some show up at the local mopar show.

Even a real daytona and clone daytona in the area.

But very rarely do you just see a '69 charger driving around here other than mine (and mine has been under construction and off the road since late 2008...).  I've seen a couple at shows, but that's about it, and they weren't local.

UH60L

And before any smart alecs start spouting off, no, it has nothing to do with any tv show.  Less than 1 percent of all '68s and '69s.  Less than 1 percent, nuff said
