I'm telling you guys the frame rails are shot.  I'd bet anything.    :yesnod:   Some guy wants pictures of the frame rails and the owner says he has no way to lift it.  He says you're buying it "as is"     :rotz:    looking at how bad the rust is, there's no way I'd buy it without seeing the frame.

IT tis sad to see so many people try and tell this gentleman that he's too high. Of course it's priced not to sell, but once people begin to try and "Change" the sellers mind by posting how they did in the Q&A section, all they are doing is dog piling for show purposes only. Sad, sad, day. I'm sure the owner will be more than happy to announce his/her disappointment when it didn't sell @$15K. I'm sure he/she will see the error in judgement sooner or later when it doesn't sell. Far be itr for me to get on EPay and post what those idiots did in the Q&A simply because I'm bored. Almost a tiring as seeing it done here on EVERY, SINGLE, E-pay ad posted.

Wonder if Barrett Jackson auctions had a comment/ask seller a question button, If people would act this tarded.
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

The seller has the option whether or not to publish those questions to his auction. He's making himself look further like a fool by publishing them for everyone to read. He could just ignore them & let the auction run it's course.
One could also wonder how many questions he received that he didn't publish?  :scratchchin:  :shruggy:

Seller obviously doesn't know that or is doing it to prove a point like showing how Idiotic people can be. His spelling is terrible, but so is mine at times. I refuse to get on an EPay ad and try and tell this guy he's the Non speller.

Point is, it has NOTHING to do with whether or not he publishes the Q&A or not, it has to do with IDIOTS trying to convince him he's wrong. All I'm convinced of is there are alot of self-righteous people that think by crucifying people in public, they can force "change"..This is a terrible misconception. All the while being done under the cloak of "Helping the buying public".....No, your doing it for your own self centered reasons. Pure and simple. Why does ANYBODY get into it with anyone else online? Because they tend to think they can be vindicated by crucifying the other in public and FORCING him/her to "Retreat" by saying they were wrong....Some will simply refuse to say they are wrong, keep posting the way they have been, tell you to go f*cking die, and basically, shut down fifteen threads until the one that thinks they can force change finally reallizes they were wrong to think that and gives up. But I degress, Here I am trying to tell you why people are idiots. Sorry, my mistake....Carry on.

The seller absolutely has to know. When a buyer asks a question, eBay will ask if you if you want to include that question/response in your auction. He has to specifically put a check mark in a box to include those questions in his auctions. People can ask whatever questions they want, he's hurting himself more by letting the world see them & his responses. Just the same people can ask whatever prices they want. Which goes back to my previous response:

But you are 100% right, sometimes there is no convincing anyone of change.  :2thumbs:

WELL, HERE'S THE WAY i SEE IT.  These so called idiots are flag wavers.  This makes a person that is still learning about these cars see what it's really worth/or not worth.  It keeps some poor guy from paying waaaaay toooooo much.  I could care less if I was called an idiot for telling that guy he's trying to scam some poor fool.  If I see somebody trying to pull this crap (ripping people off) I will always speak up and always have.   Hell, I've done it here and flushed out several less than honest people over the years.   We've seen it to many times here that a new member bought a car and got ripped off and is trying to figure out how to fix it all and asking for help.  I don't want to see this car end up here under those circumstances.    :rotz:   Because then guess what happens?   People start bashing the guy that bought the car saying it's his fault for not knowing more and so on......  :rotz:

Cooter is right, you can't change the sellers mind but other than that, Skip makes an excellent point and a very good reason to speak.

Surf Charger

My dad always told me "theres an ass for every seat." So I'm sure someone out there might buy it...regardless of how crazy the price is..you never know. I just sold my Charger and got my asking price of $13,500 ...which I thought was a bit high...but I figured I'd start a little higher than lower. I had 10+ people call me the first day and it sold the next morning...just from a craigslist ad. I even had some guy that wanted to fly out from California and look at it. So as crazy as it seems, you never know who is out there looking.  ;D

I will have a Charger again...but in the meantime I picked up a matching '69 Roadrunner that was in storage for 30+ years to hold me over until I find that 4-speed Charger I'm looking for...mainly b/c it was a friend of my dad and he didn't want hardly anything for it.  :2thumbs:

yeah and those guys dont know nothing about mopar either.  Alot of guys get into this thinking they are buying a 'gold nugget' and thinking they can always sell it to make money or break even etc.

Its been done over and over then alot of the guys come on this board telling their story about it.

Nothing wrong with that, but if someone comes on the board asking opinions thats what we do here and we know alot of sellers ask way way way too much for their sheit.

As for this dudes auction he does have a right to ask for whatever he wants granted it wont sell, but hey its equivalent to appraisers in this industry I say.

F8-4life

This may sound harsh but its a harsh world....nobody really needs to "Watch out" for the guys that overpay for junk. buyer beware, if they bought it without doing the homework they deserve the lesson. And the lesson will stick the more they pay. The seller trying to get the most $$ is just playing his cards as a hhuman (wanting the most he can weasle out of his product) I mean you really cant blame a guy for trying. If someone came up to you and eagerly offerd you 10k more then your charger is actually worth, would you not take it??

F8-4life

I actually just saw its at 3900 with no reserve, I guess this proves he is reasonable? Honestly I cant blame the guy for trying to get top doller, who know maybe he is just trying to weed out the losers. Selling a project nowadays is a hell hole...so many talkers/bstraders and very few legitament $$ buyers.

Fyi I got a similer 69 for sale (actually better imo) you would not belive the calls I get. Pure morons some of them, Rust seems to suprize them?? I have people wanting a good running/driving 69 CHARGER for $4500? THis is not the twilight zone this is real life...

But we do watch out for each other here on DC.com thats how we roll if one does not like it then they can leave....no one is forcing people to stay to talk about prices here.  We love the 'flippers' who come on this board though they crack me up.

Hard Charger

its an addiction

i have never met a Charger i would not buy for the right price.

i am a charger whore.

F8-4life

74charger, I agree it is good to help out others, especally here on the site... but there is a fine line between watching out for others and just straight out hassling a guy selling his own property. IN the end the only only 2 that matter are the buyer/seller.

spoolinhard

It just seems stupid to me for what that car sold for when you could have had this one for less money.

Some people are just morons.

JB400

What did he end up getting out of it?  Last I looked, it was over $8,000 I believe :o

Cooter

Well, Lookie there.....All the whining about overpricing and the damn thing STILL made good bank. Go figure. Just goes to show you, you can't get to all people. Some have to learn the Buyer beware lesson the hard way. These cars are worth it for some. It never ceases to amaze the hell outta me though, the "Authorities" on these cars seems to think people should give 'em away?? Funny how that works. Even with AMD out there. One would think the "Charger people" would have a better grasp on pricing.

Wow, sold for $8,300.00.  I'm feeling pretty good right now for what I paid for my 68.
72 Charger- Base Model
68 Charger-R/T Clone
69 Charger Daytona clone
79 Lil Red Express - future money pit
88 Ramcharger 4x4- current money pit
55 Dodge Royal 2 door - wife's money pit
2014 RAM 2500HD Diesel

RECHRGD

Well, he only got a little over half of his original minimum price, so I guess all the bashers were right.  I'll be lowering the price of my R/T clone to $75,000.00.  Better jump on it before I take it to the crusher.....

Yeah.........

If owner asked $8K, here it'd be worth only $4K. If he was asking $4K, here, it'd be worth only $2K. If he asked $2K, here, it'd only be worth $1K and so on and so on...

# 1 rule of selling.....ALWAYS ask MORE than you want because people like to haggle...I bet it would REALLY bother some if they only knew this guy was only hoping to get around $2K for that thing, and ended up getting $8K.
