I looked at it earlier today so went in to the ie history and when I click it it says it's either missing or off limits to me.  That's weird.

Troy is pretty lenient on topics that are borderline of becoming a problem among members except with politics. It takes a lot to tick him off, so I'm guessing that you probably used some questionable building materials in your garage during the construction & certain members called you out on it. It's happened before & the last one was ugly. Someone showed their garage construction project photos & in one pic there was a lumber delivery being made by a Mitsubishi flatbed truck.

The Buy American mentality surfaced within just a few posts & the battle raged. The person building the garage tried to be reassuring that just because the delivery truck was foreign made, it didn't mean that the lumber was. Senior members badgered the original poster for a scan of the lumber invoice depicting the country of origin, but he refused to show it. That led to more accusations that he was hiding something & that even his Charger had paint that was probably also hiding things like excessive bondo & rust.

Many posts with popcorn munching smilies were used while everyone waited for the scan. Another member started a topic about the original poster not being on the up & up & had posted a paper trail of craigslist wanted ads with matching phone numbers asking for foreign lumber to show non support of his country. That topic got even uglier & even a mod lost his cool & posted obscene pics of someone doing unmentionables with pieces of imported wood. (That mod banned himself, by the way.)

A few days later the original poster took a photo of an invoice & posted it, but it was proven that it was not his invoice because it had moderator Chris' orange & black, '69 Charger in the letterhead. We all know the unauthorized use of Chris' car is always on fake stuff, like on coffee mugs, t-shirts, calendars, panties, keychains, etc. Anyway, a group like the one that chased Frankenstein's monster was formed at Carlisle that year & a number of people had went to the original poster's home & burned his garage down. They came back with a piece of scrap wood that said "Made in Canada" on it.

So, if your thread is gone you have to ask yourself, was your lumber domestic or foreign?
