What I'm saying is I thought that the script emblems would be the same size as all the other wreath emblems. I noticed the two smaller emblems down below by the original packages in the picture. I'm assuming those are from other areas like the trunk lid . I didn't realize there were different size Wreath emblems.

I'm not sure of what the small ones are for. I screwed up and thought they were the c pillar emblems. I decided to keep them and put one on the deck lid & maybe one on the dash next to the SE emblem.

You wanna sell the other small one? The pic of the red car earlier was the first pic I've seen w/one on the deck lid. I like it and have been looking for other pics.

There is great old video on YouTube . It's an old  review of a blue 71se on the track. I kept pausing it to see emblems placement. I noticed the wreath on the deck lid also. I also noticed the fender emblems that say charger , have the arrow  emblem Next to the word charger as apposed to below. It should come up easily if you search it.

Seen the video. I was talking to archie via pm about the emblems. Here's what I wrote:
Forgot to say one big reason I think my badging is correct is the car was painted (and what a terrible job it was) and all the badging and trim was just taped over. There is overspray on everything which says to me there's been nothing added that wasn't supposed to be. Paint peeling from the edges of the trim & every horizonal surface is covered w/cracked paint which is why I was dissing my car.
My opinion on badges is they might switch up placement from time to time at the factory. Hence some arrows might be below & some along side. There were stick on as far as I know. Heck, just like the mismatched build sheets put in cars there might have been some monkey business going on on the assembly lines. Having grown up in the suburbs of the "motor city" I've heard plenty of stories over the years. My uncle retired out of the Trenton engine plant & my brother works at one of the assembly plants.

Today:
Now I've found websites showing the proper placement of R/T & SB badge/stickers but I've yet to see anything on SE's. I'd sure like to know not that I'd change mine just for that. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I agree 71se383.
I think that back in the days when you had people in the factory's working they probably made changes to things . Just like when you ordered a car back then you could get just about any option you wanted . Today, you have to get the option you want with a package of things you may not really want. I think they were a little more easy going back then .Some in the factory might have thought the emblem looked better here instead of there. Maybe we ran out of this part so we will use this one. Who knows.
With my previous car I Feverishly made it original as possible. With this car I'm going to do what looks best. I owned my previous car for about 20 years so its a great feeling to be able to change things to my choosing. Like In the case of my full vinyl top. It's possible that the customer wanted a full vinyl roof even though they were not originally available with the SE model back then. They probably would accommodate the request.

I was the highest bidder on e bay. I won the 3 piece trunk lip and corner reveal mouldings. Thanks for the heads up on that. I e mailed the seller before the auction and  and he said no dings , a good shine with normal wear. After shipping , I paid $178 plus $14 shipping. Not too bad if they are as described.
Nacho, thanks for posting the link to e bay above.

So far I've purchased from 9 items from e bay auctions and one item from outside .
1 . 3 piece rear trim trunk moluding .
2. and original owners manual
3. a dome light cover
4. nice driver side upper door panel mine was warn .believe it or not I found the exact door panel color and all.
5. Cowl vent cover grills .
6 . charger  S/E dash emblem . I bought the whole wood grain part with the AC vents . it was more cost effective to get the emblem this way .
7. Both charger fender emblems .
8.. charger fender emblem arrows.
9.Charger trunk emblem dodge division .
10. charger S/E wreath for trunk lid .

The grand total is .......$434.50.

I did not go with the front moulding because  the seller stated that there were dents  they did not post any pictures of the damage . I did not want to take a chance .

I hope that the seller packages them up well  or maybe uses a PVC pipe  to ship the mouldings.

Have him insure the heck out of it, worth it.

The auction does state insured shipping. If it didn't I would make sure it was insured.  Mopar parts are way expensive compared to GM. I did have some $$ left over after selling my Chevy .  I paid $15 k for the charger. . Thankfully  I now have the money to  buy  what I need and tweak the car to my liking.. You gotta love e bay !

Was at a swap meet sunday and saw a hood trim. Thought of you. It had about a 2" area that had been dented and someone had tried to hammer out. It was only $5. Thought about taking a chance on it and reselling it but passed.
Picked up some stuff for myself. Some used stuff & repopped at really good prices. Saw these badges but didn't inquire about them as the guy was packing up & I was tired. Aren't they purty! Looked like new. Shoulda ask the price.

Great car, I like it :drool5: I'd leave it as is, keep the interior and drive the wheels off it. I kinda like the hood without the SE trim with that painted bumper. Also,  Its nice to see a thread about a 3rd gen Charger  with more than a couple replies.

Yup! Those are some nice pieces of car jewelry. Hope you Scored what you needed. It's to cold for swap meets here. I haven't needed to go to one in many years. The car I sold was mint and needed almost nothing. I say almost cause there is always something you need or want. Today I ordered a few more items from e bay. 1. Horn relay 2. Battery tray. Than I went to autozone for some basics oil, oil filter , air filtered (had to be ordered), and negative battery cable.

Thanks Ralley2, I will keep the green. Like I mebntioned earlier in the thread, it grew on me and I can't see making it disappear. I even found the exact same upper door panel on e bay. It the drivers side and in great shape. I jumped on it since I doubt I will see another great shape drivers side door in that color.

The first car I ever bought for myself was a 68. I always wanted another and started looking . The prices on them are high now . This caused me to look into 3rd gen chargers .I always ignored these cars over the years .The more I looked into 3rd gen the more I realized just how beautifully styled they really are. I quickly realized that I wasn't settling at all. I could have gone either way but ended up with a 71. I dont think 3rd gens are going to stay in the shadows of the 2nd generations forever. I really believe that there will be more and more people having this same revelation as time goes on and the values of these cars will shoot up. You can't deny the beauty of either of these cars.

Of the 2nd generation I prefer the 68 because of the round tailights and front hidaways. I always loved the interiors of the first generation too. If I had it my way $$ , I would own 1, 2' and 3. Maybe someday.

Swap meet was indoors. Huge. Largest one in the area they say.
Scored:
OEM battery holddown, nice used. $15
Washer bottle w/working elect. pump, no cap, nice used. $8!
Drivers side splash shield, used. $5.
2) Rallye wheel trim rings, used, nice driver cond though 1 has a curb scrape on it but both were $8! I'll upgrade later.
Repopped:
Dome lens, $7
Fuel tank grommet, $15
Radiator shroud, $70.
Total spent, $128
Knocked alot off my wish list. Can't wait till spring! Which seems like today & tomorrow w/these temps.

I sure hope the 3rd gens start increasing nicely. I think I already stole mine at $3250! and have put $1325 into it to get it roadworthy.
