Hi guys,
2 things.....
I will install a new mallory distributor on my 440 69 Charger.
Before I had a Mopar electronic ignition kit with a vacuum advance distributor and a MSD Blaster2 Coil. With the change of the new distributor, I will continue to use the existing MSD Coil.
Now I have mesured the volts at the resistor and have got these values.
Input side of the resister: 9.9Volts and on the output side 4Volts. At the Coil positiv terminal I have 4Volts.

My new Mallory Unilite Distributor wants 12 Volts. That means I can bypass my old resistor. Is that correct? The existing resistor becomes useless?

At the Coil positiv Terminal I have mesured the 4 Volts. And in the manual of the MSD Coil is written, that the coil has to be feed with 12Volts. Was that wrong the whole time now with the 4 Volts from the resistor? The engine ran so far without any problems...
In the case it was wrong, can i crimp the wire from the MSD Coil positiv terminal and the wire from the Mallory distributor witch both want the 12 Volts together and place them to the 12 Volt wire that comes out of the firewall witch got hooked up with the resistor? So both have 12 Volts?
I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing.
Lots of greetings and a happy new year!!!!!! Joe
