(CNN) - Four firefighters were shot, two fatally, while responding to a blaze in upstate New York on Monday, and investigators believe the shooter set a trap to lure them to the scene.

I have had the very unnerving experience of responding to a fire scene that was an active manhunt. Troopers with automatic weapons on the fireground isnt fun at all.

As a volunteer fireman, I have heard of this happening before only in bad, big cities where they booby trap the floors or set up other kinds of traps for firemen.  Sick world we live in where they try to hurt the ones helping us!

I saw that story & just don't get it. I suppose it goes hand in hand with all the other whackoloons that want to take down as many people as they can before they go.

My uncle is a retired NYC fireman & told me of stories like that close to 30 years ago. They would show up at a fire & sometimes shots were fired at them from the adjacent buildings. Things were thrown from rooftops as well. He also said there were booby traps in the buildings designed to take out anyone who entered searching for people. One common & low cost trap was to have pit bulls in a room ready to attack.

And at the same time, they found a 30yo female cop riddled with bullets while on duty when she didnt check in when she was supposed near Milwaukee, Wi..  So far they have no clue who did it.

I have to say, I remember people talking about the third world war and hoping it never happens. I think we should be more concerned about the second civil war. I'd have to agree skip. The only thing drawing attention to the weapon will do is increase their value. Clearly it's our system of laws and their manipulation.
