Although Im not looking for a Charger I do look for them. Anyone have any idea's on how so many people loose a title? I see a lot of 68-70 dodge charger's for sale without a title. Anyone ever buy a car without a title and get one from dmv?

Lennard

It took me 3 weeks and about $300 to get a new title in Arizona.

Houses burning down, natural disasters, death, there's numerous ways a car can lose its title.  As far as getting titles, it can be done.  I sold a parts car with no title that's back on the road now with a new title.

as long as the vin #'s match and it comes back clean, it isnt too awfully hard to do, but check with your state on what they charge. i checked to see what it would cost and they told me it would be 50% of the value of the car to get a new clean title. now who decides what the value of the car is and what i would have to pay scared me, so i passed up on a 65 coronet 500 out of ohio.

If I lost my title, all I need to do is go to the DMV w. my license and fill out a form...  :scratchchin:

yep, same here. if the car already belonged to me thats all i would have to do also. pay a small fee for the duplicate title.

People move out in the middle of the night and leave inop. car.    Car is pushed out back and owners die.  No title state car makes it to a title state without bill of sale or last registration.

In that case, I can apply for a title in my name, if the vehicle was left on my property and I provided notification within the law. I can get a title for those kind of cars, too.

Hmmmm, lemme see....40 plus Y/O cars that have been owned by every Flipper/wannabe restorer/car guy/redneck/hacker and they lost the title?

IF one is so inclined.  Many aren't so ambitoious.  Especially years after the fact.

It really depends on the state. Here in NC I wouldn't touch a car that didn't have a title. They want a title on/for everything regardless of the age.
