I achieved my goal !! Well, almost.......

My goal for 2012 was to get my '69 on the road before year end (or the weather turned foul, which it has).  I feel good about how far I got, but this video will show that I still have a bit more to do!  This is the first time the car has moved under its own power in about 8 years (pathetic, I know).  I've actually taken it out a couple of times since this was shot, and I think its been a big mistake because it is super-light and the throttle response is insane!  From this point on, I'll just be adding weight  :rotz:

Glad you got it running.  What's next on the agenda?

Ranman69SE

Thanks guys!  Ridgeracer, it's a 493.  Windshield goes in next, followed by the doors and the rest of the glass.  I want to get it to a point where I can drive it, take a bit of a break, then work on the body.  I'm slowly getting over the feeling of being overwhelmed at the amount of work that still needs to be done.  As was said, baby steps....!

As some of you may remember from a previous post, this engine ate a fuel pump push rod that I "sourced" from California.  I'll be watching the oil pressure gauge very closely ::)

nothing pathetic about that.

Alot better than some guys that have a rotting car in their back yard and dont wanna sell because they keep believing that some day they're gonna fix it up....

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Ghoste

Ain't that the truth.  Or a finished car that is only used as a way to keep dust from hitting the garage floor.

Sounds excellent Randy  :2thumbs: Once you get it on the road i'm sure you'll really like the powerband of that custom cam we cooked up....lotsa tire shredding torque and sharp throttle response !  :2thumbs:

Keep at it over the winter  :paintingpink:  and before you know it you'll be on the road  :drive:

You still have the Goat ? I still have the pic you sent, saved on my hard drive.....sweeeet ride !

So, no one is asking what mufflers I am running?  Is it that obvious that they're FlowBastards!!?  Super 44's with 3in. TTI headers & exhaust.  My hearing is going anyway, so what the hell :yesnod:

Yes Ron, the cam is perfect, thank you very much!  And yes, I still have the Goat.  I actually just put new wheels & tires on it.

In a picture you posted a long time ago, I thought I could see a '68 Chrysler 300 convertible.  Is it yours?  Now THAT is a car that I've always wanted.  My favorite C-body.

Verrrry Nice !  :drool5:    Luv the new wheels/tires

The 68 300 ragtop belongs to a buddy of mine....it's an original numbers matching  TNT 375hp 440 car. He has talked of selling it a few times. The paint was redone several years back and the body is in great shape. Interior is white and in fine shape as well. If you're interested i could make some inquiries.  ;)

I'm reluctant to do so though....don't want to get you sidetracked from finishing the sweet Charger project  :icon_smile_big:

Flowbastards huh    :slap:
