Don't forget "Zombie Squad"  I may actually open a chapter up here in Anchorage when I retire. Remember "If Zombies weren't real, they wouldn't make all the movies about them!!"

Cannot believe I'm researching the topic of zombies on the Dodge Charger message board! Husband told me to check this thread out. So, I'm here. Holy cow-what did I see 12 PAGES of posts?!?! I'm starting my next writing project - a screenplay.  :popcrn:  NOT positive if I'll incorporate zombies into a movie script or not.  :shruggy: The Mister is prodding me in that direction along with another huge "angle" to the zombie storyline...Just seems like many zombie movies tend to be on the cheesy side...Of course that doesn't mean I don't watch them still! :yesnod:

I bet he just "loves" me invading this message board!   :nana:  (That was to my husband!)

In the meantime, my 2nd book is due for release March 31, 2011. www.ginamarielong.com

Back to reading all these interesting posts on zombies! WOW - deep thinking. Hey - seriously!

A book Mrs Daytona....one tip: Put old cars-Mopars in it and you will get a bigger audience, unless you have them destroyed if it ever gets made into a movie. :nono:

Book One (& Two) has a new Challenger in it...and it's NOT destroyed - it's enjoyed...by the main character!  :coolgleamA:

End of Book Two has a '57 Chrysler 300 - NOT destroyed - also being driven by some "interesting" characters!  :naughty:

Think that'll do?

Im beginning to think the zombie crisis is getting big in ga... I realized a few months back that zombieland was mostly filmed in newnan, close to where i used to live. And for the last week, they had a major highway near atlanta motor speedway shut down filming The Walking Dead.. 2 miles from where i live now..

The Walking Dead season 2 starts on October 16th.   :2thumbs:

I was hoping they would show season 1 again before the start of the new season, however, I have not found where they are going to show it again.

You can get Walking Dead season 1 on Netflix.

Last night I saw an old X-Files episode about zombies titled "Millennium" that was quite good. Only headshots took them out but there was no virus transfer through bites. However, a deputy that was killed by one came back to life.

The Walking Dead season II started last night.  I have it on the DVR and have not watched it yet.  The kids were in the middle of a Dora marathon and we could not interrupt that.  ;)

Not sure if this is relevant here or not, but I have been contacted to play a zombie in the upcoming remake of George Romero's "Night of the living dead", along with "Christine" in the opening scene.

I watched it, it was pretty good.   :2thumbs:   I'm still surprised by how graphic is is for a TV series & not a gorefest flick.

The commercial saturation is insane. Great show, but I just can'I handle the commercials. Maybe 35% of the time is commercials?

I only watched it all the way through because I was sitting on the couch feeling crappy with this head cold. I won't be watching any more unless cold and flu season is a doozy.

True, the commercials were unbelievable.  ::)  The bright side is, I kept going back to the Cardinals-Brewers game & saw more baseball than zombies.

The first season had a major budget, the second season was drastically cut.

$3.4 million for the first season for 6 episodes. $2.7 million for the second season for 13 episodes. Also the 30% tax credit the shot got for filming in Georgia was going straight into corporate pockets for the second season instead of back to the show to make filming cheaper.

Gotta love corporate greed. Their suggestion for the show was film most of the show inside so they don't have to worry about locations and reduce the number of zombies. As one corporate bigwig said "hearing a zombie instead of seeing it is just as scary".

And since the first season did so bloody well in the ratings why not throw in more commercials. Means more money for the corporate and thus each episode is shorter and thus cheaper to film.

That's why I'm going to wait for it to come out on Netflix before I watch it. No commercials and if they leave you hanging you just click on "next episode" to see what happens.

:2thumbs: Awesome!  You can't pass that up man.  The original Night of the Living Dead is one of the greats.
