I recently purchased a '69 318 car from Arizona. It has buckets in it, but they are not from '69. Do the tags on the frame contain a date code? Does anyone know how to decode the information? Thanks! :2thumbs:

As a newbie to the forum, I thank you for your reply. I think these are from a '73 "something" because the tag on the spring bases say:

3765340      26135
3473              HBB

I have pictures of the seat covers, but need to reduce the size before I can post them.

The rear seat bottom tag says   D&L  2858870    4 7 69
and the rear back says   D&L   2942796    4 3 69

Those are no doubt factory originals from this '69 Charger.

That leads me to believe that the 3473 means Mar. 4th 1973 for a build date on the buckets.

Can anyone confirm that is what these numbers mean?

with the numbers grouped together I would think 3473 could be 347th day of 73.

Just posted a picture. Anyone recognise the style? Maybe still a B-Body seat?

3765340Part number

3473probably 347th day of 73 indicating a 74 model car
HBBprobably a trim code of some sort or "High Back Bucket" ;)

Check out the 74 Charger C&T book ans see if they look the same http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/dealerships/1974ColorAndTrim-02.shtml
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

From the looks of the contours, stitching and all the buttons, I would say you're onto something!

Thanks for the replies! That will be the story I'm sticking to! Buckets from a '74...... :2thumbs:
