We all get so caught up with ebay that we forget sometimes that there are good deals for sale locally.

71 dart, not a rust bucket, with scoops and ralleye wheels,

in that same paper was a print ad for a 72 challenger, needed resto, disassembled, witha 340 for 4K.  Not cheap, but not ebay stratosphere price either.

That would be a cool daily driver to have.

5 yrs ago i was looking all over the internet for a 2nd gen charger. i was planning a trip to hlpg. that was before i knew about them.i was going up the blvd and some old flat black car cuts me off. i got pissed, then freaked out! it's a 68 charger r/t. within 2 hours the car was mine . would have been faster but i had to pick up my wife so she could see the car. there are definately local deals out there ya just have to find them . I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Headrope

I had a buddy that owned a 71 dart just like that one, but brown. It too was a slant six with scoops, wing, etc. I had a 67 Dart GT - with slant six. We cruised everywhere.
Nice memories.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

WM23N1

A buddy of mine has a '72 slant 6 twister he wants 3500 bucks for. Kinda steep for me even though it is rust free and runs excellent.

Looks like fungus...perfect candidate for a rolled-on paint job. ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Depends on your taste then, cause I don't mind green. I'm not a big fan of white, yellow, silver, & gold.

Big Lebowski

I used to have a '71 340 Duster. Very fast, but my Charger could catch it around 3rd gear or so.

My brother in law in Orlando had a 71 Dart with a slant 6, plum crazy purple, black interior, white top. That car was in great shape when he got it for like $600.

Notice the prices nowadays? You can't even touch a /6 A Body under a $1000 unless it's junk or you get lucky.

It's certainly getting tougher, but there are still good cars for reasonable prices. Stay away from eBay. It poisons your mind ! After looking for awhile, I got this /6 4 speed Demon last year, rust free, original paint for $2k. It aready has an sure grip 8-3/4 and manual disk brakes added. Of course I found it less than 1 week after I had finally settled for and bought a 72 Dart.

Dont give up.

Big Lebowski

Ya the A-body 8 3/4 rears are getting $650 at the Spring Fling, so the rest of the car is cheap.
