Do you think front plates are necessary?

A couple of years ago, my state went to just 1 sticker on the back plate. Still 2 plates, but the expiration date sticker, goes on the back plate. After they made the change, for about a year to use up inventory, you got 2 stickers, one marked expires on......., one in fairly large letters...."VOID".

It was astounding the number of people who bothered to put the VOID stickers on their front plate.

Don't front plates cause wind drag?

What's the purpose of having one on the front anyway?

My state requires on as well, although there are rumors that we may go to one plate.  Farm registries only have one plate :shruggy:
