There are both kinds among GL owners.  Some guys are Charger fans who like the GL because the TV car was one.  Others like the GL and only got a Charger because the TV car was one.

In fact I think this issue has been shifting over time, as owning a Charger gets more expensive and the children watching the show become the replica owners.  It used to be more Charger fans painting the cars as the GL, and now it has become more GL fans buying Chargers because that's what the TV show used.

And there is third group that usually gets overlooked/underestimated when people criticize DOH fans' relationship with Chargers - guys who were GL fans as kids, became Charger owners as adults because of it, but did not paint their Charger like the GL.  There are quite a few of these guys out there and they don't visibly register when GL-bashers think about the people the GL has brought into the hobby.

:smilielol:

For me, yeah I like the General Lee, but I only like it because its the Charger. The Charger Body/design and shape lends itself to that. Any other car done the same way just looks stupid. If others would buy anything painted orange with numbers, thats their business.

Either way, I havent got a GL nor do I plan to make one, still a nice car either way. I dont care for all the political crap that goes with it. Simply looking at the car for the car, its nice.

Love it!

Nothing like a cold beer on a hot Christmas day.

And the kookaburras laughing away in the gums after they pinched the steak off the barbie just rounds it off nicely.

I'm a deadman walking anyway.  No body in particular.  Northerners are fine.  It'd be nice if they were a little more respectful of the johnny rebs.  They are not all hicks like some make them out to be. Some of the northerners perfer the Georgia peaches (girls) as well.  Anybody can be a redneck.  Just ask Jeff Foxworthy

When the wife and I were touring the state of Texas in our Colorado rental, we got a lot of flack from the local drivers.  Very uncivilised and disrespectful they were to us, wouldn't let us change lanes if they could help it. Out of sight of the car they were as nice as they could be.
Seems there's still a bit of friction there.

Disrespectful drivers are a US if not global thing, not just in Texas.  Of course, everything is bigger in Texas, maybe that includes their driving egos as well

Dunno about any spat between Colorado and Texas.  Must be a football thing, or something about the cattle trade in the 19th century

Disrespectful drivers are a US if not global thing, not just in Texas.  Of course, everything is bigger in Texas, maybe that includes their driving egos as well

I asked why the drivers were so rude and was told it's the Colorado plates.  We didn't have any of it anywhere else and we covered 4200 miles.
Dunno about any spat between Colorado and Texas.  Must be a football thing, or something about the cattle trade in the 19th century

I never traded cattle in my life!   :smilielol: :smilielol:
I'll trade you a hamburger for a cheeseburger
