one of the salvage yards that i go to from time to time  has online inventory, updated daily.  well..... last night at 10 pm,   it showed a new arrival 72 charger.  i immediately started re-structuring my plans for today so that i could go scavange the car. it was my day off, but i did have a dental appt. that my wife agreed to rescheduled for me. The junkyard is about 3 hours from my house.
Got all loose ends tied up and was in bed at 1 AM, alarm clock set for 4:30 AM
get to the yard at 7:45 and wait at the front door until they open at 8:00 - i was bound and determined that i would be the first person on the car today. literally sprint to the chrysler section with a wheel barrow full of tools and Gatorade. (it was 91 degrees today) what i find is a 318 72 coronet 4 door mislabeled as a 72 charger. :'( :'(  very disappointed :'( :'(  :icon_smile_blackeye: :icon_smile_blackeye: :flame:
of course, the coronet does share some items, so all is not a loss.  all i got from it was a interior hood release assy, 3 speed wiper trans, am radio, and the radio antenna cable. i did manage to also find a couple more hideaway headlight relays on other older mopars which is always nice.  :icon_smile_approve: and as always, i bought plenty of other non mopar junk for resale, to make my adventure a profitable experience.

Twilt always on the hunt!

I hate when you go out on a lead and it's something different.

Nah, i check em all out, even the "dogs"   around the first of the year i found a nice sure-grip rear chunk 4.89 case with 3.23 gears in a 1970 town and country wagon.  unfortunately for me, my best friend talked me into selling it to him at a reasonable price :brickwall: i already had an extra one anyway ;)
while i was disappointed with this charger turning out to be a 4 door coronet,  it was hardly a wasted day.  i`ll easily turn a $500 profit on the non mopar stuff that i purchased at the yard.  i always take a good look at the 4 door coronets as they share many parts with the chargers. found a nice dash pad in a 74 coronet 4 door last fall.  My motto is " a bad day at the junkyard is better than a good day at work"  i drive my wife mad with all the stuff i drag home every week.
