i had to put my buddy down today. he was a boxer mix i got from a shelter 4 years or so ago. when i got him he was maybe 9 months old. i named him looch after the bruins player milan lucic. he was previously beaten and the fear never really left him. he was a great dog! he almost never barked, never wrecked anything (except one pair of sneakers lol) he was also great with my kids.  he got out of the house for about ten mins and someone ran him over. no one ever stopped or anything i went out to get him and he was laying in front of my door and he hobbled in the house then i saw how bad he was hurt  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

it was alot harder than i thought it was gonna be honestly. i still feel horrible about it but in my heart i know i did the right thing. i keep looking to see where he is. he always followed me around where ever i went. rest in  peace buddy you were a great dog and i miss you already.

Sorry you lost a friend :pity:  You did the right thing. He isn't suffering from someone else's stupidity.  Unfortunately, you are.  We're here for you and  maybe we can help find you another faithful companion  :2thumbs:

I know how you feel, they are like family. So sorry for your loss. :'(.

Sorry to read about this. I can't imagine how hard that must have been. Pets can be great companions for sure, and it's the worst to lose them, let alone like that.

bakerhillpins

So sorry to hear about the loss of your companion.  I lost our first dog when I was in middle school in a like manner. It's such a hard thing to do but you must know that it was the right thing to do for him.

One of the toughest things we have to do in life is put a family pet down whether it be because of old age or, sadly, because of an unfortunate circumstance like this. So sorry for your loss and only time will heal the grieving. One of life's really sucky moments but I am sure you did the right thing.

Lennard

Sorry for your loss. I have four dogs myself and don't want to think about losing one.
If you are going to get another dog, please get one out of the shelter again.
Thousands of dogs/cats are being euthanized every day because nobody can or wants to take care of them.

So very sorry for your loss. Been there a few times myself and it is never easy, whatever the circumstances. And it takes almost forever to get over it.

Our pets become family and it hurts badly when family dies. Sorry man.

Sorry to hear that, Those little guys can steal our heart and that makes it tough when this happens. It took us a long time to get over ours when we lost him. We got another one a few weeks later and this one is like 3 years old, we still sometimes call him our other dogs name.

Oh, man - how upsetting!  I feel really bad for you.  Good on you for rescuing the dog and providing a loving home in the first place.
