car dollys

hey guys im looking for a set of good car dollys. anyone have any reccomendations? i work 10 mins from harbor freight but the reviews for the ones they sell seem to be really bad.  my dads garage is almost done 24x40 13ft high ceilings    so its shopping time!

i have some harbor freight ones. they suck if the engine is in. they dont work well with the weight. i have a couple really heavy furniture dollys made of angle iron. man, it works great. i put one under the rear end blocked up and one under the front end. you can pull the wheels.push it around.  the furniture dollies worked better than the car dollies.

When the ones you get from the local farm store say 1000lbs capacity per dollie...they mean it.

They work OK for a Charger, but when I put the front end of my Imperial on a pair of them....uhh...not so much.

i researched this a couple of years ago, finally went with a set of 4 on ebay, just kept watching them until i caught them on sale, don't have pics on this computer but this thread might show them a little.  similar to Go-Jacks but half the price.  one of mine leaks down (nothing on the ground) after a couple of hours but i just make sure its on the open side of the car so its easy to get to

page 2 (to me at least) has a close-up of the front so you can see them.  easy for one lazy fat person (6ft 295 lbs) to move on clean garage floor when it had all of its parts packed inside

In my line of work they get used a lot and Go Jacks are the only brand you need to consider.  My experience is that all the others are cheap and easily ruined junk.

I have yet to see any brand but Go Jak spread apart and become useless in very very short order.  We even manage to go through a set of the Go Jak ones every year.  That being said, I'm not sure we have tried using that particular Harbor Freight one as we quit wasting money on bargain units a few years ago so it is very possible that one is the best out there but it will take a lot of testimonials before I try another brand.

ok, now its several pages back on the above thread, pic was posted Oct 21 2012@   241 pm pst
just so you can see them under the car,  like i said 1 leaks down after a little bit but i just keep it on the outside so i can reach it.  my car has been sitting on these things 24/7 for the past 2 years (probably ruining the tires) with only that 1 jack having an issue.
i haven't seen the harbor frieght ones up close

Well said... Their "Best" doesn't hold a candle to a set of Go Jaks...
