Khyron, Don't worry, Once you get a good ol fashioned dose of the "Meh, economy is bad, you need to gimme that car you put all that work and time into. I know it looks a million bucks, and I want it for peanuts because I'm a broke ass teenager dreaming, and in college. I have no money/funds", you'll most likely end up keeping it. :2thumbs:

already got those messages from here, heheh but I did get one decent offer, That was nice :-) but not enough for me to part with her.

So where is it at now?  Did you sell it to the guy doing the models, did you put it on e-bay, what?

Khyron , This reminds me of what happened to me & my Real movie charger in 1979, the soon to be EX wife TOTALED MY CHARGER as we were going through what you are right now ! :brickwall: If you are on good terms with the other half that is a good thing if NOT hide the Charger so that ANY bad feelings are NOT directed at YOUR car. If someone offers to buy it & wants to "test drive " it use extreme caution at this point. Some women CAN be jealous of a car that means a lot to you. I have had 33 years to miss my Charger and want another. I wish you the very best Khyron  and like the other guys have said, hold onto your charger as long as possible you have really put your heart into it and it iS a part of you. I wish I could think of something to help you keep her.I wish you all the very best.

Thanks for the advice, me and the EX are on great terms... I'm just in financial deadlock and this is my only way out right now... It's a get out of jail free card. Not literally .... but financially. The last year has been rough, and is forcing me to shut down my computer business and has me in a tough spot... When I get a normal job I should be fine.. but as you know, Jobs aren't easy to come buy and I have been looking for some time. I need to support myself and my Kids and the kids always should come before the car.

This is a little more info then I wanted to share, we are all in tough spots ... I just felt maybe I should share more so everyone understands that this isn't just about the car. But Thanks for the love and support guys!

I got an idea..it would be kool as hell..pitch a idea to a film director for a remake of DMCL with your car for all the close ups..seeing there making all these remakes now. It's a very very long shot but you could keep your car and get paid.

So you haven't tried to seriously sell it yet other than asking WIW here?  (meaning no e-bay or serious negotiation with that model guy)

Cooter

There's nobody out there right now, and I'm afraid it'll be this way for at least another 4 years, but tire kickers/flippers/low ballers/etc. looking to swipe people's cars for peanuts. So, in that case, good on 'ya for keeping your car!

Or... maybe there are a lot of people in the musclecar segment of the collector car hobby who either A) have a grossly over-inflated view of what their car is worth, B) paid too much during the artificial price spike a few years ago and now can't realistically get out from under the car, C) have a calender that stopped at 2007, or D) all of the above.
Because in the segments of the hobby that didn't get caught up in the musclecar hysteria there have been steady price records set.

Khyron

There will be other cars...

She may not be my DMCL... but I always have my memory of her.

Is computer business slow where you're at or is it the cost of operating?  I know business permits and insurance is pain.  My computer  guy get $40/hr +parts.

At least while you still have the car, drive it.

That's sad to hear, but this is what the voters wanted.  I'm seeing things slowing down here as well.  But, I'm diversified enough to compensate for it.   Hope you have some leads to some work.  Have you thought about still doing computers out of your house, and at a cash only type deal?  It would be more of like doing favors than an actual job.

Khyron

I have some ideas, but the ideas aren't keeping the bill collectors from calling yet lol
