Very sorry to hear this sad news.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family.

As a follow-up, Marie and the family had a Celebration of Life Memorial yesterday (Saturday November 10).

It was a moving ceremony on many levels. Especially because Steve was a Veteran, serving approximately 10 years in the 1980s/90s in the Air Force. He was buried with Military Honors, performed by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.

It was so good to see a couple hundred friends attend, from many of his walks through life, and help Marie through her grief.

RIP. :patriot:

Very fitting that a veteran be buried on Veterans Day weekend.  It helps keep you from forgetting. :patriot:

Agreed, Dan. It was good to see you and your wife there and to get to visit for a bit. The playing of "taps" at the end of the ceremony was very moving.

I attached a few photos of the day. Steve touched a lot of lives; he will not be forgotten.

I had the honor of driving Big Red to the memorial service. As a veteran myself, the outside flag ceremony in Steve's honor was very moving. It was definitely an outpouring of affection for a man that touched so many lives in a profound way. My wife and I were glad we could be with Marie and her family at this very difficult time. I told her the Mopar friends she has met over the years will always be there for help and/or to lean on, all she has to do is ask...

I continually wonder if there was something I could have done, said or anticiapted to somehow help Steve. I look at his old posts and see nothing unusual. Sh*t!

Peace, Neal

Don't dwell on it.  If he wanted help, he would have asked for it.  Some people are just that a way.

I have noticed steve and several other have been posting less here, but still showed resent active on profile. few of the guys said spending time on other sites or face-blook.  so its hard to tell just by post and replys.

Neal j  many times there are no outward signs . unless you see them and talk everyday,or very often.

i only met steve and marie 2 times.it was summer car shows, they were on trip out of town and with bryan and his wife. steve was having fun and i never got any feeling or idea of this happening. sometimes we will never know or see any signs.  I WANT TO REMEMBER HIM SMILEING ,HAVING FUN WITH FRIENDS AND CARS AT SHOWS.  ;)

All we can do now is be supportive for his family and more aware in the future .stay open and ready to help if ASKED,OR you see or pickup on warning signs from family and friends around you.     RIP and god speed Steve

NOT sure if right time and place,so sorry no intend to up set Marie with any more as we may never understand all that has happened.

BUT I DO NOT AGREE Stroker with above.. me and others tend to keep things bottled up ,or inward.people will not allways understand it themselves or want things known. i went years ,smiling and bluffing my way thru life with family and friends and bosses.     TO ANY SUFFERING BLUES AND DEPRESSION ,PLEASE ASK AN BE OPEN TO HELP.

I do apologize Dj.  I do understand about keeping things bottled up as well.  My childhood wasn't the best, and I seen a lot of things first hand that I do not wish upon anyone.  I myself have not told anyone as well.  But, when I say "Don't dwell on it", I mean don't let it run your life.  There are several reasons to enjoy the gift of life.  But, there are people that do not see them.  That is why I like to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" every year at Christmas.  No matter how bad your life gets, miracles can happen if you  just believe in them.  It might take a little more work from yourself and others, but they do happen.  Just Believe in a happy future. :2thumbs:  It'll all work out in the end

Sounds like we had the same childhood. But the things I been through lasted way into my early 40s. And now, I'll never get close to anyone ever again. I keep to myself. I used to be very outgoing. Life has it's way of changing a person, for better or worse. Just have to enjoy the things we have and move on.  :Twocents:

It always saddens me when I hear about shit like this. Having a good life (at any age) shouldn't be a privelige, it should be free to all. No exceptions. I can only wish you well.
