Has enyone on here restored their heater box and if so, did they purchase a kit that's offered to do so?   I noticed they sell for about $100 but contain all the replacement seals, caulks, foams, etc.  to restore the entire box.   I got mine all apart and it's in great shape but the foams are all rotted.  Pictures would be great as well so share what you have or have done to your box.

Thanks guys :)   Bill

Hi
I have a 68 with AC  I used a Detroit Muscle Technologies kit. Well made and comes with instructions Well worth the money. Takes some time but easy to do. Make sure the heater core and water valve are in good shape.  Now I guess you could DIY if you have access to the material needed and have alot of time. The premade kit is worth $100 worth of BS in my view.
Hope this helps

Thanks but a 70 heater box is way different, especially for non-ac.

Helps though, thanks.

Just received my heater rebuild foam kit yesterday from Detroit Muscle Technologies. The quality is excellent, their web site has rebuild tips as well as a printed sheet with the kit. Have purchased other items from them before, their gaskets fit great.
