A cup of coffee

Just a good group of guys enjoying a cup of coffee.  It's what a lot of people do.  They wake up in the morning and pour a cup to help wake up and get the morning started.  Others get together after work and enjoy a cup with friends and sit and talk about the day.  Well, I don't drink coffee.  I don't drink alcohol either.  But, I know quite a few people that do.  Matter of fact, a 3 of my buddies were doing just that Friday at 5:00 p.m.  They've done this for years.  Gather together and share bs and jokes much like we do on here.  My uncle normally joins them as well before heading home.  But, he didn't get to join them last night.  Good thing too, because right around 5, a semi was coming off of the highway offramp when a car pulled out in front of the truck. The driver locked up the brakes, clipped the front of the car, and went into the restaurant where these group of guys were.  Where they were sitting, they never saw it coming.  There was a wall dividing the restaurant in half, and these guys were on the other side. I'll let the local newspaper tell the rest. http://www.nevadadailymail.com/story/1905785.html

I'm not going to write an obituary.  Really no telling how many I would have to write.  But, I am planning on going to the funeral.  While there will be a few people come up and tell this and that about the guy, I know quite a bit of the truth.  Being I work part time at the car wash, I'd save the popcans and some of the spare change for him.  He was a junkman and done anything to make an extra buck.  He'd call me when there was a leak, and I'd help fix his truck.  I even made him brownies for Christmas last year.  But, I heard about his family, and how they treated him.  What to expect at the funeral, I have no idea.

Whie l understand we all must go sometime, what better way to go.   Hang out with a bunch of your closest friends, care-free, laughing and having a good time.  All over a cup of coffee.

This one's for you Joe

So sorry to hear this. Very sad. Your Uncle can count his blessings. Life is such a fragile thing. Make every day count.  :2thumbs:
