Can anyone tell me why my bezel has this vertical lines on it instead of the normal textured surface that I see on all the other replacemant/ repo pieces???

The car is a 1968 Dodge charger R/T from Southern Ontario Canada

Thanks

You answered your own question.  :yesnod:
'68's have the ribbed bezels, '69's & '70's had either the pebble finish or woodgrain depending on the model.  :2thumbs:

It looks like the medallion has been peeled off from the middle there, did you do that or was it that way when you got the car?

ITs been like that as long as I can remember !
The car was inherited, from my grandfather. Unfortuantly he liked to tinker with things , so he had added an 8-track and CB radio in the car. In orderd to do that he hacked up the radio part of the bezel and drilled a number of holes in the lower pieces on the dash for switches.  :brickwall:

So I am possibly looking at gettting all new bezel pieces and probably a decal kit for the gauge faces. Other than that all the switches and lense can be cleaned up to look pretty good.

I will have to look closely for the vertical line patter though , like I said all the ones I have looked at, have the texture pattern on them .

What option does the switch under the fuel gauge control?

Tach AND rear defrost.  That's a pretty rare cluster right there.
