Mytur Binsdirti

Nothing too exciting this weekend. I installaed the brake booster & master cylinder & bled the hydraulic system. This now leaves me pretty much at a stand still until I pick up both engines in a month and the chrome comes back; whichever comes first.  :shruggy:

"both" engines ?  :scratchchin:

My Hemi & a very good friend's Hemi both went for the ride to FLA. While mine is all stock, his is going to be a 470 stroker. The game plan is to see his engine run on the dyno when we go down there. Unfortunately, scheduling doesn't allow us a free weekend until early April.

Mytur Binsdirti

Here they are in FLA when we dropped them off just after Thanksgiving. Mine is the one without the valve covers.

charge69

So, when you get down to Fla. in early April , are you still going to watch your friend's dyno pull? I was there when mine made the dyno pull on my HEMI. Exciting stuff ! It will be interesting to see his numbers.

Mytur Binsdirti

Yeah, that's the game plan. There was no need to see both on the dyno, so we chose for Eddie to do mine first & come down & see my buddy's run on the dyno since it's going to make more HP. I'm looking forward to it. BTW, did Eddie build your engine too?

charge69

No. Mine was built by Wayne Brown of Nickens Brothers Racing down here in Conroe Tx. They (Nickens Bros) were a Chrysler-sponsered Racing Team and had an exclusive contract with Chrysler Corp. to supply and build their drag racing engines for all their teams until Chrysler was sold to Fiat and they became a regular shop. They could not, by contract, work on anyone else's motors but the Chrysler Racing Teams when they were under a valid contract. This lasted about 10 years and now they work on anyone's motors.

My HEMI was the first one they worked on after the Chrysler contract ended. Here is a quick pic of Wayne Brown. He is responsible for my build and did a stellar job.

Mr. Binsdirti ,
How are you putting the motor in? I see your front suspension is all together and your hoods' on. You going up as an assembly or down through the hood opening? I'm assuming since you put the booster in, from underneath........

Mr. T:

This engine is going in from up above this time around. I wanted to bleed the brakes & make sure that nothing leaked at the proportioning valve prior to the engine being installed. I know the booster's got to come out, & I'll just bleed it at the master when I put it back in.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that. I began to think that Hemi was going to be so bad that he needed a pony motor to start the damn thing.   :smilielol:

It would still make more sense to drop the k frame back out and slip it in from underneath. Just hang the brakes up and leave them hang whilst your doing it.

I gotta agree. Less chance for a screw up.

That is looking real nice  :2thumbs:

Makes me want to puke when I see cars at this stage of their rebuilds and then I look at mine.....
Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

It looks like the K-Frame clears your 4 post. None of mine do - I have to use a two post.

It was close. I had about 1/2" on each side.
