Offset Driver's Seat

When I installed the new three point harnesses in my '69, I noticed that the driver's bucket seat is not centered between the tunnel and the door, but is offset to the left by at least an inch compared to the passenger seat. Looking at the bottom of the car while on a lift, the mounting bolts that go through the floor pan appear to be in original holes, and the seat frames look normal, with their controls being oriented left and right the proper way.

Surely this is not normal, but I don't see any extra holes anywhere that would explain the seat's position. Or is it normal?

Thanks.

I'm sure there is a reason...

Oh, I just found a picture of a console bracket. Never mind.

the seat isn't offset...the engine, trans, & driveline are offset along with the driveshaft tunnel
