I'm wrestling with this.

Should I reproduce this marking on my restoration?   :scratchchin:

I switched to a different stock color, so I question the validity of having such a mark on a car that switched color. :-\

But I love the marking.   There is one like it on the rad support, too, right by the antifreeze sticker.

if a stock factory restoration /  original color !!  , i would put them back on .   color change , cant really see the point  :scratchchin:

as long as you have documented them  ,

Feel free to post any relevant picture you think we all might like to see in the threads below!

Yeah....that's kinda what I'm thinking, too.

But I'm also trying to pay homage to the processes/checks that the cars went through.

Hence the wrestling.... :scratchchin:

Are you going to reproduce the factory cowl paint runs as well?  If not, then I wouldnt bother with markings  :Twocents:

I agree.  All or nothing.

I look at it this way:

The paint runs weren't intentional on the old cars, they just happened.

The markings were intentional.

I think I can have both, a nice paint job and some of the markings.

If you love the marking, then replicate it. It's your car.  :yesnod:
If for some reason you change your mind, then you can easily remove it with some mild solvent or rubbing compound. It would probably come right off.
It looks like you're going to great lengths to replicate some of the other markings so I don't see what the issue is.
