Who sets off car alarms with his Charger?

Looking for that heavy low throaty sound.

Got a stock '69 Charger with 383 engine.
The glass packs have small holes and I am considering the new TTI exhaust system.

What are you running (engine/mufler)?

I have a 71 charger with a 68 hp 383 motor with hp manifolds and 40 series flowmasters and it has a pretty deep sound to it. HAve to watch it when going by a cop though. I soon want to put TTI's on it.

   I have a 72 with a 2bbl 318. Stock single exhaust but the y pipe cracked, so I basically have an open exhaust. Should be remedied by monday or tuesday. Hopefully. 2 1/4 inch pipes with turbo mufflers. When I get the motor I want ill put more effort into it. The neighborhood hates me right now. Especially at night

Yep, I know that one.  Always manages to even startle me a bit.  Drive by a car in the parking lot looking for a spot, then suddenly the alarm goes off.  I laugh after, but it does startle a bit.

I fire my car off in a parking lot, and leave a trail of car alarms going. I just love it.

I've done it but not often.  I have a buddy with a 69 Fairlane Cobra that does it all the time.

I did it tonight...it's soooo fun.  I've got long tube Competition Hookers (fi' dolla for you!) going into Dynomax turbo mufflers into nothing.  I want to add an X pipe and turn downs...but for now it's LOUD!

CB, I suggest that you use some Dynomax Ultra Flo's. They are not annoyingly loud until you get on it, then they sound MEAN ! They also flow very very well and will most likely also improve your performance. Add these to an X-Pipe and it is a killer combo. Good luck !

Hooker Competition headers, 3" pipe and 22" Dynomax Race Bullets dumped in front of the rear axle here.  Combine that with the 509 cam and the 4 speed, and my car sounds like a pro stocker at idle.

I have a 383 too and put the TTI's on about a year ago. It still has a nice sound too it but just not as deep. Car alarms tend to still go off in parking garages

So what's funnier, parking garages (the noise factor) or residential streets at 2am (waking up the neighbors factor)?
I like the side streets myself.

Is there a good story to it?  For that matter, I've never heard of anyone setting off a bank alarm either.  Just how friggin loud is your car?

541 hp 2 1/4 exaust you know if the exaust note is just right you can cause all kinds of mischief. back when I used to install burgular alarms my boss could tell which way I came to work by which alarms went off.hehehe only took hin 6 months to figure it out

I think it would be fun to go through the big concrete downtown parking garage sometime when it is full of cars and just drive all the levels setting off all the alarms.
