As most of you know I've been looking for a car for my dad. With the help of Chargerboy69 (Tim) I was able to find one. It was an adventure to say the least, but it was delivered this morning, and given to my dad. She's not perfect, but she's solid. Has odds and ends of things that need to be done, but what I needed was a driver, and that's what she is. The rest can be done here and there, and will give my dad something to do and a reason to get up and move around, and fight for another day. It's been a true adventure for sure. Lots of "polished turds" and "roaches" and somemore polished turds, but finally a good car.  Found the car in Winchester Virgina. 1200 miles from where my family lives. Shipping was a challenge!  (thanks TIM).  But all and all...here she is. Follow the links below if ya want to see and hear :) I learned a lot from you all, and look forward to learning more. I'll be giving my dad access to my name and such on here so now and then he can ask a few questions, and learn from all! Thanks for everything guys!   :2thumbs:   Heres a link to photobucket. Won't let me upload the pics here, so I'll send ya all there! Thanks!

Basically it was a chance find. I was looking but with little luck. Had tim helping me and I'd seen this one on eBay, talked to the owner and the next day it was off eBay. Couple days later tim sent me the link and it was re posted. Tim called him and talked with him as did I and with his recommendation I pulled the trigger kinda on blind trust that the owner was telling us the truth. Basically it was a restoration about 10 years ago. Seems to be pretty solid. Original 318 car and re. Now green with a 383 rebuilt 650 edelbrock Carb. Sent me a 440 came and a new radiator electronic headlight actuators and some other random goodies. None of the dash lights or gages work but after markets installed. Runs like a raped ape as my dad puts it. It needs a little work. Not perfect but we will do a little her and a little there and we will make it do! Appreciate all the positive responses! Owe a lot to you all for helping me out! I'll be bugging you all more later as I dig into it!

Michael,

Your first video is what it is all about.  Many dads give so much, and get little in return.  It was really something for you to do this for him.

It looks better in your pictures than in the ad.  You found him a nice one.

I am just glad I could help and that it turned out good.

Absolutely awesome. I will admit that I lumped up watching all three vids. Emotions ran high because I was following your threads on your search. You did an awesome job! The fact that you gave him a Charger that was very presentable and the fact that he got to start it & drive it. He never seen it coming. Makes me want to go out and do that for my dad who is now 80. Although it wouldn't be a '68 Charger it would be a '74 Chevy Malibu.

1968 Charger the best of the best.

Keep us posted, Bryan

That's a sweet looking Charger. Better than what I was expecting to see, when you said "driver".  Heck most 68's I see at shows are junk compaired to yours.  You did good.
Can you give us a small hint at what you paid. it looks like a 20K car to me.

Thanks! That's good to know.   :icon_smile_big: I did a magnet test today and climbed under her and she's solid. I was pretty pleased! I can tell ya I didn't spend 20k.  it was less then that.
