I did a little searching on this type of build up but, I didn't find much on factory rod and piston combinations. Can the factory rods or pistons be used with the stroker crank or must you use aftermarket? I have a 360 Magnum and thought it seemed like a possibility if it doesn't cost a fortune. Otherwise I may just build it with the standard crank. Also, for a street driven car is there much to be gained by going with the Mopar R/T magnum iron heads over the standard production heads I already have?

Thanks

I believe you can use the stock rods for the stroker... they would be the same length as the aftermarket ones. You would need new pistons for sure.

I wonder what pistons the new stoker crate engine uses? Should be a part available through any Mopar dealer.  :scratchchin:

I think they are a cast aluminum piston. If I were to build an engine forged would be better anyway.

I built a smallblock stroker from my 318, 4" Bore 4" Stroke for a 402 cu/in engine, all Forged.
Thread here if your interested, list part numbers and machining cost in the thread, as well as issues I encountered.

If I remember right rod length was 6.123"

stock rods are 6.123 if you want to maintain rod ratio you  can use a longer rod & even shorter piston

Rocky

As a general rule, even the stock rods offer a great ratio compared to the other brands out there.  There are several different pistons available debending on your engine combo, but few differ from the 6.123 rod.

decide on a piston, and contact the manufacturer
