If I flashed 40k in his face I bet he would take it in heartbeat and sign that title over in a quickness  ;)

65k is a lot but cars in that condition cost at least that in restoration to look like that. Chances of getting the 65 is slim. It's the cost of the fallen economy.  I had to keep that in mind when I lost my 15k in selling mine. People are losing 100's of thousands in the housing market. It sucks. I don't think he'd take 40k either. Maybe 55?
If you want to move on you have to take the hit. I'm sitting in my TA now at DD enjoying the morning before work. No regrets.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I don't think he would.

yes I blame the economy, but YES if I flashed 45k in my hands well in a suitace since I did have once in my hands 40k and YES its a lot in ones hands literally. He would take it and no offense to someone selling their car that was restored in such presitine condition to only sell it means to me the person needs money.

YOu do not spend 100k on a car or whatever how it costs to then want to sell the car unless you are pathetically rich and bored and that still points me back to him wanting to sell it to someone flashign that much money since he would care less.

Reminds of this guy that buys cars brand new off the lot such as an FJ cruiser and then sends it over to super duty headquarters here in arizona and spends 300k on fabriacting to fit a LS3 in the engine bay among other goodies and then to send it to sema for kicks and giggls to show off and then selli t of r 75k he does this eyarly. Has too much money on hsi hands he tell sme....

I suppose we'll find out in a day when the auction ends.  You could put a bid in for 40k and see if it hits his reserve.  I still think he would refuse your offer, you are assuming he is selling the car because he has to when it could very well be that he just wants something else.

Ya never know?  Watch those pawn stars shows. Things are worth a 1,000.00 and they offer 300.00 and eventually most people take it. Amazes me how many people fold. I thought several times I could of gotten 40k and I ended up taking 32.5 from someone because I just wanted to move on.
When I had my 57 Nomad high school car I wouldn't of sold it for any price. Every year this kid stopped by my house asking me. Every year I said no. One year he stopped stopping by.  That's when I finally wanted to sell. I almost gave the thing away. It's all timing.

I would say that anyone going into a pawn shop though is doing so because they NEED the cash.

There's a reason that place is in Vegas.    :yesnod:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
