I've been toying with the idea of getting an air conditioner for my garage.

I stuck an AC in my garage. If you can, do it. Its been 111 degrees lately here in SoCal but my garage is a

Working in the shop on my Challenger right now and it's 90.....75% Humidity...No A/C ever. Been working in this heat for over 25 years. Yes, it sucks, but it sucked for the first 25 and it'll suck for the next 15-20 as well.

It's been driving me nuts!  :eek2: It's been ether pouring rain with wind or dead calm and 95+....and I had my car 80% stripped to bare steel. I have this week off for repairs and have taken to getting up at 5 AM just to work on stuff in under 85 degrees! I've decided I have to paint this thing in sections to avoid my sweat getting on the car while painting after what I went through with the epoxy primer.

Daytona R/T SE

I've worked in a sweat shop for the last 25+ years.

It sucks.

My garage is well insulated, heated and air conditioned.

I'm miserable at work all day long,

I refuse to be miserable when I'm working on my cars...

Lowes/Homey D has a bedroom size AC unit for $99. Worth every dime gents.........have the Mrs/GF there to hand you tools/beverage and snackies in her tank top. The big plus here is that with your new AC unit Cranked up you can enjoy her artisans popping tall.   :D

I work Construction in the heat, the cold, whatever. Luckily, the job Superintendant gave permission for us to wear SHORTS ! Hell yeah! The heat is much more tolerable when I don't get an ass rash from the trapped heat!

ODZKing

It's been awful here in upstate NY as well.  Everyday upper 80's into the 90's.  We've broken more 100 degree day records this year than I can remember.
Yes, I haven't gone to a few shows because it has been 90-100.  Carlisle kicked my ass this year too!  I was out of it for better than a week after we got home.    :flame:

Lol I'm surprised your computer hasn't had a heat stroke if its in the shop in that weather.

My shop is well insulated but once I turn all the lights on and start working it doesn't take long to heat up. A few weeks ago as I was dripping sweat while guide coat sanding the 68 I remembered I had a spare A/C window unit on the shelf in the garage. Ten minutes later it was sitting in the shop window. Isn't big enough to cool the shop down, but knocks 10ยบ off the outside temp and removes a lot of the humidity.
I'll have to talk to the wife about the tank top idea but I already know the answer.

My shop is well insulated, but way to large to A/C.

I don't mind the heat.  What I hate is the cold and snow.  No thanks, thats why people will not hear me bitch about the heat.

I am not made for northern Indiana winter weather. If the wife would not care, I would move us to Florida or even Texas.  Maybe Troy would let me stay in his garage.  :D  ;)

I try to only break my Charger in the spring and fall.  That way I have weather for repairs.  It isn't fun in the garage in the blistering heat or the bitter cold.

I'm just glad there are so many people assuring us that Climate Change is nothing but a bunch of Liberal bullshit.  Otherwise I might be a little unnerved by the summer we've had.

:whistling:

Tilar

Climate change has been happening since the beginning of time. The liberals just realised it a few years ago.   :smilielol:

I'm with you! While I don't enjoy sweltering in 90-100 degree heat, I'll take it any day over freezing!!! :yesnod:

Dino

Working in this heat is one thing but finding out the only way to get the friggin bolts out is by heating them up really made my day!   :eek2:

This morning rain finally rolled in and it's cooling down so tonight I'll make some wrenches and hope to get those last two bolts out, I miss driving my baby!

You mean Troy's bunker.

Sure. . I could wash my clothes in a utility sink in the garage and hang them over the Daytona wing to dry.  Sounds good to me. . . . I will call U-Haul.  :icon_smile_big:
