Good info, for those to lazy to remember of History books, or for that matter to google it.

So if you can't remember your history books on this topic you're lazy? What does laziness have to do with a good or bad memory? And do history books in the US cover this topic? I don't recall learning about this in high school history, but then my lazy memory ain't as good, and/or perhaps as unmotivated, as it used to be. If you still have your history book, please open it up and tell us what it says. Or in your case tell us the facts from memory. And while you're at it grab your grammar school English book and learn the difference between too and to.

Also, there are "factual" discrepancies in Google. Did you know that? Hard to believe but true nonetheless.

To be fair, there are more than a few huge "factual discrepancies" in the history books as well.    For instance, Christopher Columbus committed mass genocide and cut off the islanders' hands if they didn't find a certain amount of gold each week.     He wiped out the entire Arawak population of the West Indies within a few years, and encouraged his men to enslave, rape, and torture the natives, especially the children.   Yet we have a holiday for this asshole who didn't do the one thing he's credited with - discover America.  Vikings and Africans had already been here hundreds of years before.  Oh and wait, nevermind the 30 million Indians already living here.     Claiming you 'discovered' a place where people already lived is like me going on a road trip and 'discovering' Detroit.

In short, I wouldn't put too much stock in history books anyway, especially American ones.   They're full of apple pie and propaganda, a coward's history if you get right down to it.

Detroit might be a bad example. I think all the people are gone and nature has wiped away any trace of their former existence.

It's interesting to see how well we are thought of on this site.... Briefly, the United Kingdom is an economic union, Great Britain is a geographic description of the British Isles, and England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are seperate countries which comprise the former two. I think. Whatever, we all hate each other and want independence. Not me personally, I'm not at all nationalistic. As for women, no need to look any further than KELLY BROOK.
