The iron block V10 could only be had in a 2500.  The Viper V10/1500 SRT10 & 2500 truck V10 share nothing but the amount of holes in the block.

I heard the 2500 motor was torque y but as you can imagine can't pass a fuel station.

The iron V10 is a stump puller.   In the 2500 and 3500 trucks it will pull anything.     A friend has one and got 8-ish mpg pulling an enclosed 24' trailer with a Superbird.    Very capable but thirsty.

The Viper truck is fast, but is light duty as far as being a tow vehicle.

It is known that the 06 10's are just a little heavier than the 04's and 05's. Supposed to be a totally different frame under the 06's. The body style changed a little in 06. The frame could have also.

I don't think so. It's more about preference.

If it's a Ram SRT10, then it has the viper engine in it. It's value will remain high.

JMF

Yes but is an SRT 10 single cab worth more/more desirable than a SRT 10 Quad Cab ?

ACUDANUT

Do you like Blonds or Redheads. ?  The value is up you. What you will pay or not pay.  :scratchchin:

JMF

Went to view one the other day, the single cab manual version

One thing I noticed was that in 1st gear at low speeds there was a slight hesitation, almost like when you're about to conk out if going too slow, or another comparison would be when a carb has a flat spot

Any known issues with these that would relate to that ?

Thanks

ACUDANUT

Hmmm, tranny problem ?
I ran across a guy I knew and asked if he still had his SRT truck.  He said no "it got 8 miles a gallon"  :shruggy:

It does not sound like a transmission issue to me. These trucks need a tune up every 15,000 miles. Sounds like it could be clogging fuel injectors or worn out spark plugs. How many miles on the truck? Any maintenance history? How does the truck run otherwise? You can go to srt10.Com and look around for answers. They are very knowledgeable on these trucks over there. VTCOA is another place for srt10's.
