4-spd boss bolts

Getting the case cleaned up for the overdrive gear set. Are the Allen flat head bolts that hold the 4-spd shifter pad to the tail shaft have lock tight  from the factory. I am assuming they are but would like to know before I put some heat to them to burn it out.  :shruggy:. Thanks in advance.

I think they used a nylon plug in the bolt threads , not sure locktite was available then . heat is the only way to get them out .

Success, no plastic plug, but looks like Permatx thread sealant. Did Chrysler buy these from Hurst or make their own. The one that came off has Hurst 6348 cast into it, again thanks. :2thumbs:.

my Inland has them also...they were a pain to get out
