ok i got the aem wideband in now. i got my idle a/f in the mid 14's. i took it out for a ride and cruise speed a/f was 12.5-13.5. a wot blast on the highway it got into the high 10's.

i checked the float levels before i went out their just a hair under the sight plug hole.   i have 81s in the primary and 80s in the secondary  on my holley 750 vac secondary with a proform main body.

anyone know what the ideal numbers are for idle and cruise? from what ive read 12.5 is ideal for wot.

should my first adjustment be to drop a couple sizes on the primary jet?

i like 13.5 idle,14.cruise ,12.7 to 13.3 wide open, but not every engine likes the same fuel ratio

i dropped the primary down to 78's and cruise went up tp 13.0-13.5.  the wot leaned out a bit too i wrote it down but i forgot what it was lol ill have to check.

Your A/F ratio needs will depend on your set up. WOT for mine is 12.5 - 13 but cruise is around 14.5 but what ever you can get without leaning it out to the point where you have surging. I set my primaries up for cruise with the secondaries disconnected then changed the secondary jets, power valve and power valve chanel restrictors to get a good A/F for acceleration and WOT. I am still working on a problem from transition to mains. Getting a good tune can take some time. Having a look at the plugs is still a good idea.

Mike, aim for high 12-low 13 at WOT. I'd drop the primary jets to 76 and check the cruise & WOT readings then adjust from there. If the cruise A/F looks good with 76's start experimenting with the secondary jets to dial in the WOT A/F. The secondary jets should end up around 80-82 or so and probably 76's on the front side.
