I have been lost from the board by maybe 2 or 3 weeks due the lot of job I have had ( Thankfully ). So I wanted to come back with a poll debating a situation I got one week ago.

Imagine you are on a parking lot on a very hot summer day, and just have the two options posted. Both have a disadvantage:

Under the sun, drys the interior a lot, what on an old car is critical, damages the dashpad faster, seat covers and gets brittle and chalky the plastic panels. Makes hard to start to get the A/C getting cold the interior

Down a tree, you'll get branches, seeds, leaves from the tree falling down, and in some cases getting stuck the water drains around the car ( calling rust ), plus birds "presents" over the paint.

now, your choice ;)

Hello Nacho! Como esta?

That's a tough question because it would depend on the kind of trees. Parking under el sol is all the things you mentioned. OK for people with EZ Ups, not for interiors. Conifers are better than deciduous trees....in general. A lot of variables would influence my choice........sap dripping trees, wind conditions etc.  :shruggy:

UFO

Had this issue a short while ago.Parked under the tree for the shade.
Although the shade didn't last as long as I would have liked.Good excuse to take the car for a ride again to hit the car wash.

Ghoste

I picked tree but as mentioned, a lot of variables.

Brass

Shade is nice but I would park under the sun for any significant period.  Sap, pollen, dirt, and leaves from trees have done considerable damage to my regular driver.  Even a couple hours under a tree in the Spring can accumulate a noticeable layer of crap.

Fred

As someone's already mentioned, the shade never lasts long anyway so you end up under a tree in the sun!

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

myk

Ugh, neither one.  If I have to pick one, then under a tree with a good cover...
