So 4 months of searching, calling, emails and dealing with all sorts of drama, scams, b.s., dead ends, false starts... finally found a charger I liked and it was local, about 30miles away.

medium blue/white/white 440 true RT, single owner car (seller's father-in-law purchased it new in Cali), no accidents, all original including all panels are factory, never had major rust, matching engine+trans and interior, original glass all around, fender tag, not looked for build sheet yet. one half decent repaint about 5yrs ago (removed vinyl top then), and then it just sat around after elderly owner suffered a stroke. Runs and drives, idles great, brakes are mush, dash/console needs work (tach, speedo doesnt work, other gauges are fine), ac car but its out, doesnt click into park sometimes only starts in neutral, electrical/wiring issues turn signals etc etc but the AM Radio/speakers works! She needs a lot of work, but im looking forward to it.

I drove it home 30 miles the longest its driven in years, a little scary with sluggish brakes. Brakes bite when the cars moving, but sluggish when driving slow... didnt overheat... but after i turned it off near my driveway, it wouldnt fire back up when engines hot.

Bad coil? im hoping it starts up tomorrow.  :shruggy:

More pics to follow. Pics taken at the sellers house before leaving.

Very nice looking Charger. :2thumbs: Could be the coil or the heat evaporating the fuel out of the carb bowls.

Nice

Was it a craigslist find ?

Yep craigslist. Seller did'nt want insane money for it either... which was the big surprise!

i had a mustang, 70 fastback that ran great. all of a sudden it would quit. as soon as it cooled, it would fire up and run perfect. turned out to be the coil would seperate when hot. then i had a newer car with the electric fuel pump. this was wild, but you could start the car in the morning and drive anywhere. as long or far as you wanted to go and it ran perfect. but if you shut it off, it took hours before it would start. you could go cross country as long as you didnt shut it off. changed the main brain and all. it turned out to be the fuel pump.as soon as i changed it, problem fixed. but that has nothing to do with an old mechanical pump car.  :shruggy:

Wow, what a nice car! Good for you my friend. Would you give me a general idea of your location and a ballpark figure you paid for the car. It seems these cars sell for a lot more here on the west coast.  :shruggy:
FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!

Sweet!  An unmolested car with one paint job, just like mine!  Those are the fun ones, the cars that have been 'worked on' give me headaches.  That's a very nice starter.
