I'll be going to my first big show ever. I received confirmation last week that this will be shown indoor somewhere? I don't know the lay of the land or the way the show is, all I know is about the track and that it's supposedly hot in Ohio in August...I can't imagine it being any worse than Louisiana Summer heat with humidity at full force.

gonna be putting it in some sort of moving platform so it can be moved much easier. My mechanic friend, his dad has a lot of contacts, history and he even has done panels at Carlisle and the Nats and wanted this car shown. I'll be there taking photos and geeking out on all the cars, maybe pick out a few parts for the current Charger and enjoy the show.

I'm excited. Never been to a major car show and I'm sure I'll have a good time geeking out over all the cars that will be there, taking lots and lots of photos.

Definitely will be there, with the wreck. Anyone else going? is there a dodgecharger.com tent or anything? Just wondering.

No tent. I tried several times to get some sort of group meetup at the Nats and failed miserably. I don't even try any more.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I'm no longer going.

:(

just as we were leaving, the trailer the car was on crapped out...it was already enough of a pain to get the car on that trailer and this left us with no time to do anything about it, I could have gone but I decided to stay while my friends went on ahead. While it would have been fun to go anyway and take photos and hang out, I'm doing the responsible thing and staying to work and save money to go towards my current 1969 Dodge Charger, plus watch my daughter and not complicate anyone else's schedule while watching her...

So, yeah, next year. Maybe Carlisle, battleship...or whatever that show is in Missouri, monster Mopar?

oh well.

Ghoste

I'm going to miss running into some of you as it seems like the only time I see certain people but I'm an ocean away this year.  Have fun all!

I am guessing you will find more people here going to Carlisle than to Nats.

The track is a dump, located in the middle of nowhere.  I used to go every year, but until they decide to move it to a decent location, I will stay away.

I totally agree, that whole place is a dump.  I've gone every year for 17 years, but I'm not going this year.  I'm tired of the 4 hr. drive, the heat, and the idiots on golf carts.  Brice road has sucked for years, so I'm going to go to Monster Mopar in Indy instead.  I'm going to drive my car down there.  Damn, I must be getting old.   ::)

Maybe I should rent a golf cart while I'm there...  :scratchchin:

Unlike Carlisle last month, it looks like the weather's going to be tolerable in Columbus. Friday is the only exception.

just watch out for bedbugs in that nasty state.

Tilar

Rain Friday, Saturday sunny and 71. No Bedbugs that i'm aware of.

Secondary question: will you car be sporting its tire diapers? If I could manage to get up early enough in the morning to see them still on the car it would be worth the trip just to get pictures!  :pity:

Here you go (so you can sleep in until the crack of noon like usual :poke:

Funny, I don't recall ever seeing a Huggies Daytona running back in '69. :shruggy:

After the morning drizzle passed,  and then one horrific 10 minute storm...  the sun came out and it was a really nice afternoon.

I didn't see jack squat of the show tho.   I'm stuck in the MA booth telling the heifers we don't have any 4x shirts  :icon_smile_big:

Flyinlow stopped by to say Hi.  I checked out the YO cast magnums on my way to the facilities.  And there was a cute girl selling lemonade across from the schlock shack.

Today is probably gonna be a really nice day for once.

Year One and Brian has been waiting for a set for a long time.

That display rack in the picture has been in YO showroom for at least two years.

Tilar

Well it turned out to be a nice day. Overcast most of the day but it was nice. Saw Gene and his fantastic Daytona again, Stopped by the legendary upholstery tent and spoke to Dan from Chop Cut Rebuild. Stopped by and said Howdy to Brian at the Mopar Action tent and later stopped and got a lemonade from the cutie that Brian posted a pic of above.  :yesnod:  Then ran into Troy and talked to him for a bit. All in all it was a good day. No rain till after 4 so we left when the racing stopped.
