For the love of all that is sacred to you, if you shave the exterior door handles and p.ut in electric solenoids, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, install a mechanical backup!!! :flame:  I see way too many of these things that are electric only and after these cars sit and the batteries die you cannot open the doors.  If you can't get in them, you can't access the battery and if you can't access the battery then you can't charge it to open the door (see where Im going with this right?).  This is so commonplace with the shaved handles you just would not believe it. :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

I've seen that alot too. I've always installed a mechanical backup for the battery reason as well as the possibility of a failed solenoid.

I installed many of those on custom cars years ago and would never do it without a backup.  Customers who didn't want to (or could) spend the extra $$$ I would refuse because I know who they would call when they couldn't get in.   :icon_smile_big:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Anyone who does that to a Charger nowadays deserves to get locked out

I shaved the handles on my 69' Daytona clone years ago. I used Jaguar solenoids, removed the deck lid key also and used a Cadillac electric/push button switch inside the glove box set up. I did install a back up under the deck lid for the door's via gas door T handle cable from inside the trunk area on a lot of cars hooked up to drivers door only. I hear the car is just sitting in the guy's garage still, another I'm going to finish it someday project.
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

The factories still don't put mechanical backups on power door windows.  I find that mind-boggling.  Just a little flathead screwdriver port on the interior panel would be fine.

Too sad, that's for sure.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

All you really need is some remote battery cables droped down to be accessed but still hidden.
I may be schizophrenic but at least I have us!
