I thought the purpose of this thread was to explain why the 68 is the best, not a poll.  The only reason I see, is that it don't have the $200+ I beam in the middle.  Brownie points given for being at least a little cheaper.

Ghoste

Amazing isn't it?  A $200 part can make the grille look $2000 better.

That's economics for yah.  Take a piece of crap, add some bling, makes it worth 10x more than what it's actually worth.  Works for the Chinese.

Ahem, I believe work started on the "grille cover" after they got that 68 bulldozer blade out on the track.

No, the 68 was the one that sent them scrambling for a fix.  The first attempt was to move the dozer blade closer to the wind.

well the 69 grill was so bad they never even tested it  :icon_smile_big:

There was no need to test the 69 regular production grill.  They found out the 68 lifted the front end too much, so they stuck a 68 coronet grill in it.  By the time they done that,  it was time for the  69 model year.  Otherwise, the 500 would have come out in 68.

Glad to see the 69 C500 grill added to the conversation :2thumbs:  I think the 500 grill looks 100% better than the standard 69 grill or the 70.  I have a toss up between the 68 and 69 C500
1969 Dodge Charger 500 440/727
1970 Challenger convertible 340/727
1970 Plymouth Duster FM3
1974 Dodge Dart /6/904
1983 Plymouth Scamp GT 2.2 Auto
1950 Dodge Pilot house pick up

Let's throw this in the conversation.    Does the grill look better in a C500 or in the 68 Coronet that it originally came with? :shruggy:
