69 ashtry into 68?

After some info:

Will an ashtray out of a 69, easily fit into a 68?
I'm in the process of re-doing my interior, and the padding on the ashtray is a bit of a letdown.
Having trouble finding a good one, so was wondering if a 69 ashtray would take its place?

I want to say no because one is a sliding door and the other is a tip out door meaning different mounting mechanisms and so forth but then again maybe someone else has done it?

I switched my '68 slide down for a '69, it bolts (screws) right in and fits fine with the dashpads, etc.

my 70 is a "tilt down" style, not a slide out....my 66's are slide outs though
