What to do about doors?

As you may know from a previous thread of mine my 69 charger has one 68 door and one 69 door. Both doors have 68 linkage so the lock knob is toward the back of the door. I've bought new 69 door pads which weren't cheap, and subsequently the lock knobs are in the wrong spot. The car is a General Lee and the owner must have swapped over to 68 linkage (and pads) to be able to jump through the window without snagging the lock knob.

I don't really plan on jumping through the window and sliding over a $300+ set of pads with jeans, so this brings me to my question.

Should I find 69 door linkage, convert my doors back to correct 69 and use my current pads or;
cut my losses, sell my new pads to the local seniors center and buy new 68 pads ?

What would you do ?
